The Blind Squirrel is my new favorite restaurant! The atmosphere is fun and the drinks are good. The food is absolutely amazing! The service is always excellent. If you’re wanting some great food, good drinks, good music, and fun atmosphere then I highly recommend the Blind Squirrel!
Thought we would check it out for an impromptu date night. Our server was very nice and attentive. We ordered the nachos, not knowing their size, only wanting to share them as an appetizer and also order a meal. I really found the nachos to be pretty bland and not live up to all the hype apparently. They did have one thing going for them, it was the largest plate of nachos I've ever gotten at a restaurant. But, sometimes it's quality over quantity. The nachos seem to be just melted shredded cheese, some diced tomatoes, some sparse diced red onions, along with some large fresh jalapeno pepper slices. I hate those, and that ruined it for me personally. I only like pickled jalapenos on nachos ?. I came in craving some nachos with jalapenos lol so I was sad. The special spicy sour cream tried saving them for me. We got half chicken, half beef. I didn't taste any kind of taco seasoning or Mexican flavor in the protein options at all. The chicken was in very large chunks. Like fajita strips. ? Seemed weird... It tasted like the frozen Tyson chicken strips in the bag, definitely not fresh chicken, tasted processed and rubbery. We also ordered fish and chips which subsequently came in a small basket! Three average pieces of fish. Not particularly flaky, batter average. The twisted fries were better than the fish! We ordered several drinks which were mostly ice of course, but they were good. The drink menu was very nice, and the selection was great I must say. I feel like we will go back, maybe try a different appetizer and enjoy some beers next time. This is much more of a bar than a grill. Also cute little stage with live music close to home to enjoy. Lots of comfortable places to sit and hang out. Apparently they open up these big garage doors that make the front walls when it's nice, we'd like to experience that. Seems like this place would be great if they revamped and expanded their menu some.
Blind Squirrel is a huge establishment. They have a giant bar and lots of inviting comfortable spaces for groups to meet, talk, and have fun. The open garage doors make the place feel wide open and on a cool weekend day it felt great to have a breeze. Our waitress was good, although it took a little while to place our order. After that she was quick to refill our drinks. I liked the Cuban sandwich, and my friends liked their orders, but it would have been nice to get our appetizer before our entrees. Overall the Blind Squirrel is a beautiful place and worth a try.
Great food, reasonable prices. The portions are big so don't think you can finish the appetizer and the entree with less than 3 people. My wife and I could have been filled with one appetizer and one entree. But you each their own! Also the cocktails are a bit stiff.
The food is so amazing at this restaurant! However, our waitress tonight checked on us 3 times in 1.5 hours. We ordered our food and appetizers at the same time and we waited 50 minutes for it to all come out at the same time instead of the appetizer first then the food last. If you’re in a hurry or want good service I wouldn’t recommend. The only reason I’d go back is because the food is so good. So thankful for the other waitress who went and found ours on her phone to give us our check.
Our third time being here and still no disappointment! Atmosphere is lively and friendly. Music entertainment has been very good. Wait staff have been attentive and knowledgeable with great suggestions! Food has been excellent. Perhaps our new go to place in Florence!
Checked out this place for the first time and the food was delicious. Great beer selection and the atmosphere is really nice. If you order the nachos, do not order anything else! It's enough to feed 3 people but they were delicious! Only complaint was that it took a while to get our food but didn't mind as much once the food came out and tasted so good.Will be back!
Awesome atmosphere and setup. Tvs everywhere so it's a great place to catch a game. My new go to for that. Food is delicious and fast to the table.

My reason for 3 stars? Just look at the pictures. The food isn’t consistent. And if it’s one thing we go back to a restaurant for, it’s because the first time was really good!First picture was from February 26. Second is from March 18.The reason why we took a picture of the nachos the first time was because we have never had takeout nachos served in a literal buffet serving tray! We got such a kick out of it (clearly the little things in life amuse us!)!First time nachos: Overall really good, which when you look at the pictures, you might think the second time was better because there was more “stuff”, but that wasn’t the case. We gave the first time a 4/5 rating. There wasn’t quite enough toppings for the amount of chips, but it was good! Which is why we got it a second time.Second time: Inedible. The part that is missing we couldn’t even finish. The toppings were so bizarrely placed. The bottom of the tray was covered in queso, which made the few chips in there very wet. The chicken was in huge chunks but the beef was shredded? I don’t know, it was weird to have a mix of both. Again, hardly any chips- it was just toppings. And the cheese on top was rock hard.Obviously you can see the other differences, like diced jalapeños compared to sliced. Again, not the biggest deal but where’s the consistency?We did get takeout wings during football season and they were really, really good, so we’d definitely go back for that! The buffalo chicken dip is also really good but I wish they’d shred the chicken. It was awkward trying to eat big chunks of chicken with a creamier dip. Didn’t make any sense.This place is always busy when we’ve picked up, so maybe it was just an off takeout kind of night!
