My wife and I ordered this meal and it was disgusting and stale rice that was mushy and cold and less meat on top and taste awful. The potstickers were burnt also like grill was not clean and this company wao bao is ghost cooking at Ruby Tuesday(meaning someone else use their kitchen) renting ... We ordered uber eats and didn't check the star rating before ordering .but we're trying to get uber eats refund now.
Had a great time with my family and we had great service. Our family are going to come again for sure. Live laugh love
The bao were dry and a little tough and I chose 2 different kinds but ended up receiving the same kind of boa. Then I ordered the orange chicken to receive a bowl or rice and a slop that tasted like fruit loops and maybe had 4 piece of actual chicken in it
I was nicely surprised that there was a bao restaurant right in our hotel when we were visiting just long enough to attend a concert and return to our home 300 miles away. Sadly, there was no Bao... there were bowls, lettuce cups, pot-stickers, and dumplings, but no Bao. I had dumplings and would not recommend the Thai Curry filling, however the Kung Pao filling was quite good, so all was not lost, but I simply had my heart set on Bao! How can you call yourselves Wow Bao when you serve no Bao? They should change their name to WOW... No Bao!
Wow, great place. First time eating this type of food. I had chicken teriyaki. I had the two portion. It was very good. The Teriyaki is cooked inside the bun. It’s soft and takes great.
We’d been walking past this location in/out of the Renaissance. After a long day out on the town, we were tired but not that hungry. It was easy to order Teriaki chicken with lo mein noodles, Kung pao chicken lettuce wraps, and BBQ pork Bao. I liked the bao, nice amount of pork & hot. Hubby liked the lettuce wraps with spicy kung pao chicken. The teriyaki lo mein was ok.
I was so sad to hear that the asian buns/bao buns were discontinued. I didn't end up ordering anything but I was definitely looking forward to it! I hope they bring them back.
Very good for a fast healthy lunch. Tried the bao and potstickers both were excellent and fairly priced.
My family and I passed through Chicago on our vacation. We had heard about Wow Bao and thought we would give it a try. The ordering process was all electronic and the your order in the que was posted on a screen. The orders when done get put in boxes, and you get them yourself. The food is dim sum mainly, but not traditional dim sum. Mainly buns with non traditional fillings. We only tried the savory ones along with an order of pot stickers. We all thought the food was tasty, especially the chicken curry bun. The only down side I saw was the size of this location, it is very small inside. It might have enough seats to sit 20 at most. We did later see other locations that seemed much larger. So if you have a large party or want a lot of personal space, you might prefer going to other locations.
I am extremely disappointed with my first and last experience at Wow Bao. I’m traveling from out of town and decided to order food for pickup via the Wow Bao app. The app said that my food would be ready at 6:33 p. I get to the restaurant at 6:33 p and my food isn’t ready. I let the worker know that I’m there to pick up an online order and I'm told that my order will be ready soon. At this point my order is already late. I take a seat and notice it's very warm in the restaurant. While I'm waiting, I occasionally get up to check on the status of my order. I see a thermostat that says that it's 84 degrees in the restaurant! No wonder it's so hot. After waiting for 25 minutes in the restaurant that's 84 degrees I finally received my order. I check my order and discover that it’s wrong. 1) The Spicy Peanut Noodle Salad and Watermelon Ginger Ale that I ordered are missing 2) I paid for 8 vegetable potstickers and received 4 3) The order that I was given had buns, which I never ordered The worker “corrects” my order and I leave. When I get to my hotel I bite into my "vegetable" potstickers to discover that they aren’t vegetable potstickers. They have meat in them, which is a huge disappointment because I’m vegan. The Watermelon Ginger Ale tasted like watered down watermelon juice with no ginger. I wouldn't recommend it. The only thing that I can recommend is the Spicy Peanut Noodle Salad. It tasted very good. Unfortunately due to the long wait time, 84 degree temperature in the restaurant, and my order being incorrect, not only will I never be visiting Wow Bao again, but I also cannot recommend this restaurant to anyone.
