I really enjoyed the brisket! being from tx it tasted like home. maybe Bill Miller but home non the less. ❤️❤️
On our way heading back up to Indiana and decided to give this place a try. We got the steak combo, one with ribs and other with shrimp. We got our food in a timely matter and everything tasted good. The waitress was also really friendly and made sure we were taking care of. Definitely glad we stopped and will again if we’re close by.
THIS PLACE IS TERRIBLE. Horrible service and hamburgers that will cause you to be sick before you even leave. If you’re looking for a grease pit on your tray, look no further than this place. Otherwise; stay far away! (: Sincerely an outta town individual who should’ve gone chain rather than giving this place a try.(:
The little girl that is a hostess needs to be fired. She is the rudest child. Told us a table was almost done. Then 15 min later said it would be 45min, all while setting a party the size of ours. Then when we asked if tables could be pushed together she just kept saying, “It’s not fair to the server”. So, we chose to leave, simply for how rude she is, and as we are walking out the door, she says, “Fine if you all want to be petty.” So, I asked to speak to a manager. Apparently, he was busy cooking. Was told I would get a call. Guess what, no call. And as we are in the parking lot calling another place to eat, getting several kids loaded back into the car and 2 motorcycles going, wouldn’t you know, she came and sat on the benches outside and stared at us. We go out to eat all the time. Have no problem waiting. As much as your food cost though, I expect a little bit of respect. Definitely not a child talking down to myself and sister in law.
Food was really good. No wait to be seated but there was one Server for several tables and she had to get or make everyone's drink from the bar. They also must have been short in the kitchen because it took awhile to get our food. Server was working hard and very polite. We will definitely go back to see how it is when it is not Mothers Day.
I was just going to leave this as a rating, just for the fact that it could've just been an off night, and we possibly would try again. However, since the restaurant wants to be snarky, not only will we NOT be back, here goes. Took about 15-20 minutes to be seated even though there was no one else waiting, and very few people in the restaurant. Waitress was great. We got our drinks fairly quick. We got a "bloomer onion" for appetizer. It came pretty quickly, but it was just ok, and sitting in a puddle of grease. The rest of food took nearly an hour.. The waitress kept checking on us and apologizing, the kitchen was taking a while, in a nearly empty restaurant.. The entrees were hot when we finally got them, but not good. Everything was overcooked, dried out and super greasy. It all tasted like it had been prepared way in advance, then reheated. Also, they put pulled pork in the fried apples, which was so disgusting (in my personal opinion).

Host didn’t acknowledge us when we came in. Eventually, I asked her if we could be put on the wait list. We asked if we could sit in the bar area instead of waiting and she said yes. That was the last employee we saw until we finally gave up and walked out. 80%of empty tables were not bussed from previous diners. Bar was a disaster. We sat for 15 minutes prior to leaving. Tables talking to other tables about the lack of attention and time spent there. Poorly managed. Lights out, dirty restrooms, I’m sure my review would have more to say but we chose to cut lithe experience short.
It should have been an indication when we called twice for a reservation and no one answered the phone. We were staying close to this restaurant while in town for business so we from our chances and popped in...we stood waiting at the hostess stand for five minutes (as did a group of gentlemen that came in after us) and no one would seat us. We thought sitting at the bar would allow us to get acknowledged and served. The bar was dirty. No one greeted us for minutes. It was ask, wait, and be served begrudgingly. I've never been to a BBQ joint that didn't make you feel welcome. Very odd. They had a page full of bourbon selections on their menu but only three available; ribs and brisket were sold out for the day; I settled for a combo pulled chicken and pulled BBQ pork. What I received were greasy chunks of both. I didn't touch the chicken it looked so disgusting. I picked at a few pieces of the pork. The lukewarm loaded baked potatoe was the highlight of my meal. I've never experienced a BBQ place so awful in all of my travels. Don't let the trophy's in the front of the restaurant fool you --- this was no award-winning meal.
Had a salad, Hot Pepper cheese cubes and a tall beer. Price wise everything was great. Only issue was the beer wasn't cold and the mug wasn't either. Other than that service was great food came out quick and we didn't have to wait an hour and 40 minutes to eat at Texas Roadhouse. Lot of people were ordering the ribs and they did look fantastic and smelled great.
