Slow and disorganized. Placed an order on the app for curbside pickup. Showed up when order was supposed to be ready. Waited 5 minutes and nobody came out. Called the number on the curbside sign, nobody answered. Went inside and nobody was at the front counter because it's an order kiosk. Took another 5 minutes before an employee asked what I needed. Finally got my food 30 minutes after the order was placed after app said "11-16 minutes".
What a disaster. Ordered for 3 adults & 2 kids from the kiosk. Waited about 25 minutes to get our order. There were so many things wrong!! Chilli had no cheese, burger didn't have bacon, given a small shake, should have been large, fries were under cooked, onion rings were cold and the manager was unprofessional. We described all the things wrong with our order, the manager gave us a small bowl of cheese and a small bowl of bacon with a message of "sorry for the inconvenience". The floor was slippery, the wall separating our booth from the one next to us had greasy handprints, the bathroom was gross. We hadn't been to a Steak & Shake in years. It would seem as if they've lowered their standards a bit.
We enjoyed our meal. All the food was well prepared and hot. Only complaint is the shake wasn't done at the time the food was. However, I would rather my food be served as soon as ready and hot than sit and get cold waiting for the shake!
Used to love this place. Felt like a family environment before. Now it might as well be a fast food joint. If you dine in now, You have to use a Kiosk..no more waiters...Needed some condiments and you pretty much have to beg for it. Sad place, Will not return.
That old school family charm is gone. No waitress ready to greet/seat you and take your order. Zero interaction with employees besides to pickup your order. It's all done on a kiosk. When your order number is called you get it yourself. This is a dine in restaurant not fast food. I'm not lazy and call me old school (I'm 25) but I like that classic feeling of being waited on (you know, like how other restaurants do). It may be more efficient for the workers but it is a cold atmosphere for the customers. Even going to McDonald's has way more life. It was like a quiet library/cafe in here. Tables could've used a cleaning. Food is good when it's done right (once had 3 over seasoned burgers and next time had an under filled shake). It's not nearly as chaotic as it once was but that shimmering sparkle is lost.
Outstanding food and wonderful customer service. Everything on the menu is made to order, and delicious. Employees are always helpful, establishment is clean and friendly.Will definitely be making another visit here in the near future. :)
When I pulled up we had several questions for them about the food and menu. There was none else in line which was nice because we could take our time. The staff was friendly and courteous. They have closed most of the locations in my area so we were very happy to see one of still open. Will return again. Thank you for the great service.
Food was ok that’s not the issue, after me and my family were leaving noticed a young lady hurrying in the door as we walked by her car park in front, I noticed a car seat with a baby in it and no one else in the vehicle. So if baby can’t depend on mom to protect I would, so I stood by this gray doge journey for 10 plus minutes waiting for it’s mother to come back. Once she did finally come out and employee of the restaurant came out as well being very confrontational with me I do not know if this was a friend of this person or not but they were upset because I was standing there making sure no one could take this vehicle with a baby inside. I did not curse or yell at either one of these ladies which was one of the hardest things to do maybe they both deserve a cussing but I tried to be as calm as I could give the situation, the employee of Steak ‘n Shake told me that it wasn’t hot outside and it was OK. That’s not the issue the issue is a mother left her baby in a running vehicle, door unlocked and keys in the ignition completely unattended and baby had to depend upon a stranger to make sure he or she was safe. This restaurant should maybe look into some kind of procedure for when stuff like this happens.I did call the police, but mother left before they could show up.
Came in during the afternoon and the restaurant was absolutely filthy. All orders have to be done through a kiosk in the front which is fine but that just means the employees dont have a reason to come onto the floor resulting in no clean tables. Was on a time crunch so ordered food anyways and received cheese fries that tasted like they had been made yesterday and a luke warm frisco melt. Absolutely have gone downhill and I wont be back.
First time I've ever been to a steak 'n shake. It was a good experience the service was friendly and fast, of course there were only 4 of us in the restaurant. The manger? Even brought our meal out to us.
