Was a terrible experience ? don't waste your time! Your only choice was the breakfast buffet. I use the term “buffet” very lightly. We waited over 20 minutes just for scrambled eggs. Everything else that was there on the breakfast bar was cold. There was very few items that had anything in it. Basically our choices were cottage cheese and fruit for breakfast. I was terribly disappointed. The hostess didn’t make us aware that all you could get was the bar and neither did the waitress until we questioned her about it. I asked for a manager at the table and she never did show up. I understand they were short staffed but what I don’t understand was why did the manager not get back there to help restock the Buffet in a timely manner.
This was the worst experience I have ever had at any restaurant. The ladies were arguing in front of the customers and when we were seated no waitress showed up until about 20 minutes after we had already eaten our food at the bar my mind you without any drinks. After that all 5 waitresses stood at the front line complaining about everything and everyone in theirs lives. So sad that a manager would let this happen. When I went to pay for our food. The lady told me I would have to wait a minute because she was counting her money. Wow. So I left my money there and left.
We were traveling and hasn't had any breakfast, but it was almost noon. I wanted breakfast and my husband wanted lunch. He got the double decker hamburger and it was huge. And very good. I had their breakfast buffet. Actually for a buffet the food was good. Loved their sausage gravy and the cooked apples. The servers were friendly. Good experience.
Clean, food hot, great customer service. Fresh and ready. Great place for breakfast.
Stopped on our way to Orlando for a convention. The staff was really nice and welcoming. Even though we arrived around 8pm, they took care of us and got us food without a wait.It was a hint nostalgic too; we had Shoney's in Green Bay. WI, but it’s been a few decades. The mashed potatoes were a hit. They let us know well in advance that the salad bar was closing. Was it best food ever? The service was was. We get it, we got there super late. We’d stop by again on our trip through.Read some of the 1*s too. The economy was rough in KY. Staffing is hard. Could they do better? Yes, but when your driving 14 hours and happy to see food w/o a wait, who cares. Nobody got sick.Wish all the staff the best.
Went for the seafood buffet on Friday night. Very little food to choose from. Waitress was very unconcerned about our table. Had to ask other employees for refills because our waitress was MIA. Way too expensive for the quality of service and quantity of food. Only 2 types of fish and zero shrimp. Salad bar is decent though.
I am from Louisville, however, I was in the area to visit a friend in the hospital. After our hospital visit, we had gone to a popular restaurant in the area for dinner. However there was an hour and a half wait to be seated. That was much too long to wait so we decided to go to this Shoney's. I hadn't been to a Shoney's in years. It was the BEST choice! They only had the salad bar open but it was excellent!!! The fresh, hot, delicious fried chicken, mashed potatoes, and cooked cabbage on the salad bar were liked a "home cooked" meal at Grandma's house! The decision to come to Shoney's to eat, was way better than the restaurant chain we were originally going to go to. The staff was very friendly and accommodating!!! I will definitely go out of my way to make the trip back here to eat!!! ?
We don't have any Shoney's where we live and when we saw there was a Shoney's next to our hotel my husband was so excited. They no longer have our favorite chicken fingers with sweet and sour sauce. So we got the salad bar which was just okay. My husband was looking forward to some strawberry pie but they were out. We opted for the hot fudge cake which was just as good as we remember. The restaurant was very clean and the staff was nice.
Would give zero stars if possible. Food was terrible, the waiter told us the fish filet entree had 4-5 pieces, only had 3, my brother's steak was supposed to have sides, he didn't get them. And server took forever to provide service.
Not worth the money. $14 for the buffet 12 years and above. Minimal items and empty bins just sat without being refilled almost the entire time we were there. The soup is wildly old- not even stirred and very thick from sitting so long. Chicken over cooked therefore dried out and chewy. Just not good quality of food at all for the price.
