Mother's day weekend lunch.Hubby ordered Country fried steak with mashed potatoes and hashbrown casserole.Large portions and delicious.I had fried tomatoes with sauce.It was delicious. We couldn't ask for better service on a busy day.Waitress Morgan is very prompt getting our orders out.
I'm still sitting at the table waiting on another salad and some Mac and cheese to go. So good I wouldn't dare leave without something to take home.Staff was friendly and attentive. Won't pass through Kentucky without stopping here. 11/10 for home cooked, down home, comfort food - with healthy options.
Meatloaf, County Fried steak, mac and cheese, salads, burgers are the type of food on this menu. Very friendly service. Cute decor. Plenty of parking.
This is a delightful restaurant and boutique. My friend had the chicken salad croissant and I had the fish tacos. We both very pleased. The boutique has lits of farmhouse style decor and a nice selection of candles, along with many other items. We will be back. Tip: Don't order the carrots if you don't like them super sweet!!
Really nice place to eat and enjoy a homecooked meal. Large portions to boot! We had a group of 6 and everyone enjoyed their meals-- meatloaf, country fried steak, open face roast beef where all delicious. The sides were excellent as well-- stay away from the sweet potato casserole as it is like a dessert-- to die for folks! I would visit anytime I was in the area! Great job BHR!!!
Great place for lunch or dinner in the purest “old fashion country” style. Food is generous, find country items like fried streak, country ham, fried green tomatoes and fried pickles, in what is one of the most unique restaurant in Elizabethtown.It’s about the experience and comfort food. Look at the picture and you’ll know what to expect.
Since I was a child, I remember eating here with my family. Good home made & comfort food. This place is a staple in the community for at least 2 decades that I can attest for. The desserts at the register are really good. Don't leave without getting a few for the road. This restaurant is family & locally owned. They are great people. Food, service, atmosphere, cleanliness & location is what gets this place a 5 ☆ rating.
This is a cute little place. It's an old home turned into a restaurant, so it has an abundance of charm. The staff was very friendly and the food was pretty good. The only critique I have is that the portions are small. Our family of 3 spent almost 70 dollars for what seemed like 30 dollars worth of food. Other than that, it is a lovely place with a unique eating experience.
Wow! The food at the Back Home Restaurant is absolutely to die for! They offer so many amazing homemade style entrees that it’s hard to decide what to eat. My husband had an open faced roast beef sandwich, on homemade mashed potatoes with delicious gravy. The owner told us that he slow cooks the beef to make it extra tender. I had delicious country ham with the best sweet potato casserole I’ve ever tasted! They serve some type of cobbler daily, which is always delicious. The family who owns this restaurant bend over backwards to make you feel welcome, and their son was an excellent waiter! The boutique in the restaurant is also adorable, with great products! Loved, loved , loved this place!
Looking for a nice local restaurant in Elizabethtown to have lunch with my best friend. We found the PERFECT place! The food was outstanding and the atmosphere was great! The sweet onion dip was awesome. The menu has lots of variety so it’s a must to return to. Also, love the gift shop!!
