We stopped in on a walk and waited while the employee helped the person in front of us. The employee disappeared into the back and started some food prep, after which I watched him crack eggs and place items on a grill without gloves on. There was also a sign saying due to staffing shortages they had a smaller menu, which I don’t hold against them. But the no gloves approach was a real turnoff, so we left. Disappointing as I’d hoped they would become a new favorite for us, as we live not too far away.
A pleasant and clean place to eat in Mainstrasse, Covington KY, close to Cincinnati. Older building but enough inside room for maybe a dozen people. Coffee superb, with bakery and breakfast/ sandwich items also. Pleasant atmosphere. Ate breakfast with three others; all reported food very good. Prompt service.
Walked all the way from my hotel to this bakery bc it was the closest one that was open. Not sure why all the others within a few miles were closed on a Sunday but I’m sure any of them would have been better than this. Despite having smoothies on the menu behind her, the girl at the register told me they didn’t have smoothies at this location and asked me if I’d like anything else. All that was in the display case were pecan pies and this one cinnamon roll, so I took that. Hands down the worst cinnamon roll I’ve ever had and the first time in my 29 years on earth that I’ve ever thrown one away. I would never come here again based on this experience.
Such a cure little place and they were pretty busy for a Saturday morning but the breakfast tacos and breakfast quesadilla that my husband and I had were so yummy! Highly recommend.
I arrived mid morning. It is primarily a coffee/ espresso shop but also has a grill for eggs etc. Good looking bakery items too. Some limited street parking in front on main St, but has additional parking spots around back. It was a good place to sit and talk with friends. I will go back. Easy choice, friendly staff good food and coffee!
I don’t write reviews like ever but I’ve visited this place a few different times and the experience is never the same. Sometimes there’s a whole crew and the food and service is amazing and other times there’s one or two girls who have no clue what they’re doing. Sometimes my latte is delicious and sometimes it’s just disappointing, and usually because the worker looked inexperienced. Waiting ten minutes for an almond joy only person there and it’s not even hot?? Usually out of half the things on their menu lately and there have been a few times the workers told me the “kitchen is closed today”. One girl swore up and down it was only for that day and this “never happens” then I come in two weeks later and the young man tells me it’s closed??? I said thank you and left. The staff is also never the same I’ve seen quite a few baristas come and go and I’m not even a regular. I’ve had the workers tell me they don’t know what some of the PASTRIES are before. I can’t even be mad at these young girls because they seem frustrated too. It’s a bad reflection on management if anything. So many red flags and then I read the reviews and wow. This could be a cute place but obviously not much care is going into it. One whole third of the drink menu can’t even be ordered. There are much better coffee places around here. Try Carabello’s or Roebling’s.
Quaint little shop, quality of the drinks and food was great. Something a little different. Only knock was service was pretty slow but also not in a hurry!
Very cute little coffee shop.in main straus village. They have lots of treats, pies, and flavors first your coffee. There is also plenty of seating and a nice overlook of the street from 2nd floor.
Stopped in for a coffee and asked what had the most caffeine. The Sledgehammer was recommended as it is 2 shots of espresso then the rest of the 20oz to-go cup is filled with drip coffee. I asked for two extra shots and the ladies behind the counter seemed concerned for my safety. Ha. I survived and the coffee was great. 4 stars because the cookie I ordered was a red velvet cookie and when I got home and opened the bag it was just a chocolate chip cookie. Cute coffee shop.
I have been wanting to leave a review for a very very long time. once upon a time I worked here. the turnover rate for his employees changes like the weather and customers always mentioned that they never see familiar faces behind the bar. Checks were never on time, as a young woman I had to close the shop at 9pm all by myself in the dark even when I complained about feeling unsafe (with very good reason too and all the other girls agreed having also been harassed by male customers in the later hours), and everything was incredibly unorganized. I stopped in recently and talked to a girl working and i didnt even have to ask and she mentioned she never gets her checks on time STILL. Not to mention the espresso shots pull for only 4 seconds, the espresso machine is neeevver cleaned, and the coffee is never worth the price it runs for.Tim is a ridiculous and rude little man. Cute environment but everything else about it is definitely 1 star.
