To say that I was pleasantly surprised by Ashland's Steak & Shake is an understatement.It has been quite some time (years) since I ate at a Steak & Shake and I remember it being unremarkable. Fast forward to today... the lady who took my drive through order was an absolute sweetheart who genuinely enjoys her job. She wasn't "over-the-top" friendly, but honest and helpful with a witty demeanor.With her help and recommendations, I ordered a double steakburger and an order of onion rings. Both were fresh, hot, and VERY delicious. I will definitely return and try other menu items.Thank you, Mystery Lady, for helping me find a great lunch option! See you soon : ]
The place is ran down hill food wise. Will never eat here again bc of this experience. Some one need to take charge of this place
This was a special trip for us. The Steak 'n Shakes near us went out of business. The burgers were just as delicious as we rembered them. Shakes too. Service was a little weird, but understandable given everything that's going on.
Not very welcoming or friendly. Our large order was squeezed into a single a togo bag even though we were dinning in. Portions seemed smaller than usual.
My family of five and I went through drive through. We purchased five burgers. All were very good. My one complaint is that we had two garlic burgers (super messy) and zero napkins.
Amazing milkshakes. Just wish they would serve it in a glass again. It's not the same without the big glass cup
Good food but I ordered online for a specific time and when I received them less than 5 min after the time I was supposed to they were cold like they were made hours earlier when my order was placed
This was my second maybe third time eating at Steak `n Shake, didnt think I would be a big fan, but, I really like it. The Bacon Steak Sandwich Was Awesome!! Didn't care for the tiny shoestring fries all that much but they were ok! All around opinion so far good, good, good!!
Disappointed that the menu and general appearance of this store seemed worse than the Steak n Shake used to be. Atmosphere, friendliness, choices, food preparation, all were disappointing. This place was easily accessible while nearby restaurants were full with long waits .My family liked their sandwiches, but I chose 5-- way -chili. I did not complain to the manager, because they seemed too busy, so I might have judged unfairly.
I hadn’t been since before the pandemic, we decided to go and everything has changed. The place no longer felt like a diner, you felt like you were just going to a fast food. I know it’s always been fast food, but the feel is why I liked it. They no longer had the seasoning for the fries and a very limited menu. We won’t be going back unless they do a major change.
