We have eaten here quit a few times. Most times food is good, but other times it was lacking. Each time we have eaten here they have been out of certain ingredients and have substituted items out. Last time they were out of certain alcohol for a mixed drink and their milkshake machine was down. This time they didn't have the cupcakes for their Birthday cake milkshake, but they gave option on substitution and my daughter was fine with cheesecake. Price is on the higher end and food is not that special, BBQ is mediocre, and I've had better burgers at local shake shops for half the price. Only thing they have going for them are the milkshakes.Staff is very good and attentive to their tables. We saw them handle children great and make it a fun atmosphere for them and the adults.
Food was good and service was pretty good but the place needs cleaned. When waiting for our table noticed how you couldn't see out the front window cause it was so gross. Then all the floors were gross and dust bunnies everywhere. The bathrooms were the worst. The men's toilet was gross and everything in there was covered in dust. My wife took my daughter to the women's and said it was also dirty and said there was no toilet paper. Just needs a deep cleaning and a little more upkeep.
We had the juicey lucy burger. Instead of the chips we got the fries, was a great choice. Some of the best food we have had in the ashland area. Topped it of with a strawberry milkshake. Would recommend all day everyday. Also Monday was 2 burgers for 12 dollars. Our waitress Caitlin was awesome
The bombshells did not blow us away. Here are the negatives that my wife and I experienced:1. The parking. (Middle of the day)There is a sign that directs you to the parking area that you eventually see, after you've driven around in several other parking areas.2. The main entrance is not clearly marked. (Middle of the day)Other than an OPEN sign that was turned off, there is no clear indication as to the main entrance to the place. We incorrectly entered into the rear as there looks to be several possible entrances from the street.3. The decor seems half-hearted.There's random pictures of military stuff all over the place that doesn't seem to tie itself together or lend any service to the establishment other than a feeling of cheapness.I am no super-patriot but I do take the cost of freedom seriously. If you are going to capitalize on the men and woman who fought for our freedom, at least put some energy into it.4. I didn't see a single "bombshell".No bomb casings or ordnance of any kind. At the very least, a few replica bomb casings hanging or sitting around would be neat.5. My Sierra Mist was not mixed properly. The carbonated water content was so high that I could barley taste the syrup.6. My "All American" burger was mediocre at best.Rather than being blow away by their flagship burger, I was left chewing on a lackluster sandwich that had a very "cookout" feel to it. There was little seasoning to the meat if any, and I was overwhelmed with the feeling that the buns were the cheapest thing they could find at Kroger's. The buns weren't heated, toasted or buttered; nor did they contain any seeds.Everything about the "All American" was just plain.......boring.7. That extremely loud rattling in the men's restroom. When you enter the men's restroom and turn on the light, you will be greeted with around 100 decibels of intense and extreme rattling from what I assume is part of the exhaust system.I am bewildered by this problem. I don't know why it wasn't fixed yesterday.Things that were good:1. Service.Immediately seated and I felt our waitress enjoys her job.2. Appetizers. The chips and salsa were interesting. That's about it. Based on my first impressions, Bombshells and Ales is just a cookie-cutter, mediocre joint that thinks it's military themed by hanging a few pictures on the walls. With a little bit of energy and compassion, this could be an amazing place to dine, but until some changes our made there are plenty of other establishment I wouldn't pass to get there.
I'm legit cracking up at these people complaining. Cook your own food if you are so picky. We ordered at the end of the night, literally 30 minutes before close and everything was HOT and Delicious. The only thing I would "complain" about is that my COMPLIMENTARY corn fritter wasn't in the box and they are my fave. Lol. ? wasn't mad at all. Just wish i had one. My bf got the fried green tomato blt and it was super good, tons of bacon. I had the country fried chicken and it was juicy and delicious. Fried corn is my absolute fave. Literally no actual complaints.
They do some things well, BBQ, in my opinion, is not one of them. Their burgers are good as well as their bombwiches. I can’t recommend getting their sampler platter which is just their straight bbq, as it’s usually way too dry. The ribs were too dry and burnt as well. If you’re coming here, stick with a burger.
We’ve been there 4x great food and service each time. We love it
The last time I ate there my food was cold and the waiter cleared our table while we were still eating. I ate there once before and it was really good but this last time did it for me. My BBQ also had chunks of fat in it. (Alot of fat)
Thanks to Jordan and the rest of the staff for treating my husband like a rock star for Veterans Day. Cute restaurant with great food and beer.
Had the flamethrower burger and the wife had a brisket bombwitch...amazing...
