My wife and I are Italian fans. We have tried all of Italian restaurants around the Tri-State area. Some are really good, but they come with a price. Bella Fonte though is really good and it doesn't break the wallet. The menu at this restaurant has a little bit of everything and everything I've tried has been good. The drinks are reasonably priced as well. Desserts on the other hand, are lacking. They have them, but nothing has been too exciting that we have tried.
Interesting little place. Food was typical Italian restaurant food quality, chicken parmesan was good but they buy the cutlet, tastes like olive garden, which isn't bad just not what I want from a mom and pop place. The alfredo sauce was good and plenty used so it wasn't dry. Overall the food and service was good, just good not great, but it was premade stuff obviously. Then the odd part, why have a Italian restaurant with Mexican food? Very weird but I think they are trying to pull in a larger group of people by being diverse in food selection.Personally, I'd rather they focus on making a few dishes excellent instead of a bunch of just ok food. Kind of a older crowd spot it seems from our visit, 65+ yr olds. Not a must visit but ok if you're wanting pasta for dinner.
Stopped in on our way through town. Food was great, with a huge selection, and pretty large portions. Very reasonably priced. Had a delicious slice of donut cheesecake for dessert. Service was prompt and very friendly.
Server was great! The manicotti was excellent! Large serving sizes!
We visited this restaurant when they were incredbily busy and obviously short-staffed. The people who were working were working VERY hard. The menu is extensive and interesting and they have a very nice dessert menu. A warning: if you're asked if you want a "large" or "tall" beer, ask about the size. It's enormous! I've never seen one that large outside of Germany. Another warning: portion sizes are huge. My chicken parmigiana would easily make three meals. Considering the situation, service was really quite good. Food was good, though the marinara sauce is good, but nothing special. Those who ordered pizza were pleased, though the pepperoni is a bit greasy. It's reasonably priced. Given other options we saw in the area, it's very likely among the best around.
Delicious affordable food and great atmosphere to dine! Scrumptious
My husband and I have a bed & breakfast in Kentucky, and we drive through Ashland on our way there about once every six weeks. After we found Bella Fonte, we started planning to stop there either going or coming! It's a nice break in the drive -- nice atmosphere, excellent service, and comfort food at a reasonable price. This isn't the best Italian we've ever had, but when you considerable all aspects -- price, service, menu choices, surroundings, location, it's all good. I love the eggplant parmigiana, which I've found many Italian restaurants don't serve anymore. My husband usually gets pasta with pink sauce and enjoys it. Bonus: Bella Fonte has a frequent diner card so you can get extra value for what are already reasonable prices.
Pretty good food. I'm my experience, the Mexican side of the menu is better than the Italian side for sure. It's hit or miss most the time with their Italian options but so far everything else has been excellent.
Excellent pizza, as always, at a great price. They were open on Christmas eve later than all the other food places. We were scrambling to find something to eat. Always the nicest service.
This is a great family restaurant delivering some of the best Italian, Mexican, and American cuisine.
