The Wichita Fish Company has been around a long time. I think the food is good, and I've tried almost everything they offer. The prices are reasonable and the portions are good.
The food was excellent! The portion was large!The price point was value for the $$.I was reminded of the Cape Cod seafood shacks on the East Coast! Not fancy, not fast!I congratulate the woman ( maybe the owner?) managing this particular lunch, as she was 2 people (cooks) down. She was managing the phone orders, walk-ins, and cooking all of the food, and did it all with grace, grit, and fierce determination!Was there a wait? Certainly! Was it worth it! Absolutely!Nowadays, this is everything!I look forward to many more visits to this little seafood oasis!Ciao for now!
Haven't been in a awhile so we went to the new location. Stood at the ordering window for 10min. With no response. Then she comes to the register and takes a phone order instead of the people standing in line. Yes it was a Friday but there was only 2 tables so 4 other people in the building. We just walked out. Maybe we can try again some time!
Nice little restaurant. Comfortable welcoming atmosphere. The food was delicious and you get good portion for the money. Very reasonably priced. We will definitely be eating there next time we are in Wichita.
Small simple down home fish joint! The kind of place your grandma and grandpa would have started 30 years ago (but the goal wasn't to grow big... just to feed the people and your family!)
The food is as fresh as one can get in a landlocked area. Portion sizes are phenomenal! I love supporting small businesses. The owner is such a wonderful lady. I had the two piece catfish with fries, hushpuppies and coleslaw. Then ordered shrimp and clams.
I ordered the Chicken Dinner and Subbed the hush puppies for extra slaw (personal preference) and it was delicious!!
Best catfish dinner you will ever have! Flour or corn meal your choice.. shrimp scampi is excellent, hell the whole menu is excellent!
Fantastic place for fried catfish among other things. Came in and they took my order and then made it fresh. I got the catfish strips with cornmeal breading (the right way) and it was very good. I havent had fried catfish this good in a long time outside of the south. The hushpuppies and cole slaw were also really good. Will definitely be back. Theyre reasonably priced and very friendly.
Sad sad sad...they relocated to 800 N Mosley. Called my order in over 30 min ago & still had to wait. Menu has changed slightly. Prices a tad higher. But the new locale has no charm like the ole place. Owner passed I guess. Hate seeing a Wichita landmark have to do stuff like this.
