Traveled 1,200 miles from Virginia to Wichita for an upcoming wedding and wanted true local BBQ and we’ve found it! Not only is the BBQ and brisket out of this world, so is the friendly staff! Was so good that I had to get a shirt!
This place lives up to the hype of the other reviews I read that brought me here. Got the special of the week, "the burnt ends", basically the end pieces of the brisket put on a couple of pieces of bread, drenched in their delicious bbq sauce with a side of sliced pickles. one it was sleepovers to my table I looked down I wondered who ate my sandwich. Only to look at my hands that resembled a wild animal that just makes a calf. It was so good the thing was just gone before I realized it but so filling I was satisfied.The people working their are so nice and helpful too, this is the go to bbq place in Wichita. Just a good vibe place with delicious food. Unless you're a horrible human being out a vegan, you should live this place too.

This was our third 'cue stop in Wichita, and we were generously treated to a sampler plate that allowed us to try a number of meats and sides before ordering. Everything was top notch except for the ribs, which were too salty for our taste. The turkey proved moist and buttery, the pulled pork well smoked, but we went with brisket, hot links, baked beans and creamed corn (a 2 meat, 2 side plate), with an additional order of jalapeno cheddar sausage. Given the amount of food that we received, and its quality, a price point of $20.94 made this one of the best buys in our BBQ odyssey! The spicy links and sausage are both terrific by themselves, but they also marry perfectly with the sweetish baked beans. The creamed corn, which has far more creamed cheese than most, is also a terrific bite. The brisket easily passed the pull test, and its classic central Texas flavor profile was nicely framed by well trimmed fat and decent bark. For our money, this is Wichita's best BBQ option. Indeed, we would rank When Pigs Fly one of the five best 'cue joints in Kansas.
Nice size portions of meat for what you order. Love that the meats aren't dry like most places. The BBQ sauces are pretty tasty. I would definitely come back.
My husband and I just happen to see this place and thought BBQ sounds good. Folks let me tell you the meat is beautifully seasoned and melts on your mouth. The employees are very polite and friendly, the atmosphere is welcome and bright. You can tell they take pride in their business, it was very clean, including the bathrooms. I highly recommend them and will be comingback for all BBQ cravings!
This would take me a hour to narrow down their best parts. Their food was top notch. They treated us like family. They made sure we had everything we needed. They served us (The Bride and Groom) so we didn't need to bring our food back. They even gave us water immediately after the ceremony in private. We will always recommend them!
Delicious food and a wonderful atmosphere! Even the bathrooms were nice! Great prices as well. The staff was very friendly and welcoming. 10/10 for the brisket, pulled pork, and ribs!
After living in KC for nearly 30 years we worried we wouldn't find BBQ as good in Wichita but we finally did here! Everything was great, especially the pulled pork and brisket which was moist but still lean! The service was also excellent! Highly recommended!
