I was with a group of others...Searching for a place to eat...I stumbled upon the menu of this particular establishment....The pictures of the food looked really good..and I was eager to sit down and make my selection...But upon arriving.....we didn't see anyone of our likeness... So my husband said No....Way!Next time in town..Maybe I can order? room service..so I can try the food.?
First time there last week. The food was good not super greasy. Didn't try the alcohol. Waiting staff seemed really busy, but seems they did the best they could. The old timers like to go there not much of the younger crowd as me and my husband, and 1 other couple was 20-30 years old. Still had a great atmosphere though!
Good quality food at a reasonable price in a casual bar atmosphere. Wait staff is attentive and friendly. Pool tables and pinball in back room. Outdoor patio for smokers.
Mixed review. Always good eating in but take out is risky. Take out fries were awful - so overcooked they were like potato sticks- and the fried fish was really greasy. Never had food like this while eating in Walt’s. On the plus side the hamburger was very good, as was the coleslaw. We love Walt’s eating in so we may give take out another chance - but it’s disappointing they sent me home with food they would never put on the table.
Okay folks this is small local bar and tucked away, ie the perfect spot. Whats to like about it you ask, well the drinks are spot on and the food is really good. Now, the atmosphere is what you'd expect in a place like this. The service is fast and friendly. The bar has alot of different bourbons to include, wait for it, Blantons.Okay, so don't show up and expect a drink menu but you ask and they'll make it. I'd recommend the Old Fashioned and my better half had a Gin and Tonic. Another friend enjoyed the Cranberry and Vodka. Not hard drinks to make but .... the mixture was spot on. Thanks guys, we'll see you again soon.Visit soon and follow for more posts.
While traveling home to WINNIPEG I came through Wichita and overnighted. Walt’s was suggested as being a good choice for a very decent ‘pub food experience in terms of quality and quantity and price. This was a good suggestion. Food excellent, but could have been a little hotter (physically, not spice wise). Service was excellent- attentive server who listened well and was pleasant in accommodating my modest needs. Location at back corner in a shopping mall was not easy to find due to minimal signage, but not a real problem. Decor is typical pub, with lots of TVs for sports. Ambiance is nice. I highly recommend it. Keep in mind this is good 3- star pub food. It is not gourmet, but is better than a lot of other fancier places.
We came in right before it got busy and we were nervous about this place. Loved the fact that almost everything was done in wood. We ordered our food and the waitress was decent. Whilst waiting for our sandwiches, the restaurant (I use the term loosely) started filling up with with people much older. Middle aged men trying to flirt with the bartendresses, who were the same age, while drinking too much. My wife's burger was big. Huge bun, large lettuce and tomato, very small and thin meat patty for $9. I got a fish sandwich which was nice and thick. Then I tasted it. Tasted like burnt oil and the fish, tho heavily fried in batter, fell apart. Half of the sandwich fell apart before I could eat it. $10 for that. We ordered chili cheese fries and the actual fries weren't half bad. The chili was watery and was more like goulash with beans. We were subject to hearing the waitstaff complain about each other and the regular guests. My wife and I were apparently in a booth another couple usually sits in. They were throwing a tantrum of unexpected proportions for two 70-something senior citizens.I really got a vibe from the place that they wanted to stay in 1985 and everyone need go elsewhere.I doubt I will ever step foot in that over-priced Boomer-Bar/Restaurant again.
Corned beef and cabbage. Very good service. However, may I ease finish eating before you start clearing plates.
