If your visiting Wichita for even one day, then The Spice Merchant is one of the pkaces you need to see.Such an outstanding establishment! The staff are all very knowledgeable and courteous. You can shop for nearly every occasion and never be disappointed. They have excellent quality cooking supplies, various teas from around the globe, and some of the best vintage candies in the area, coffee mugs, tea pots and even a few games. The best part is the variety of coffees to choose from are right under your nose. They will even grind it to your specifications! I HIGHLY recommend The Spice Merchant to EVERYONE!
This is a must place to visit when you are om Wichita if you are a tea or coffee drinker. Great place for bulk spices, kitchen accessories, unique coffee cups and other gift items. However, it is NOT a restaurant or a tea room.
If you wanted to make the power puff girls you would come here for the ingredients. They got the suger, spice, everything nice! I get my coffee, the women gets her tea. Great local shop that supports other local places.
LOVE LOVE LOVE this place! I've been going here for as long as I can remember. The tea and coffee selections are fantastic, and if I can't find a particular spice elsewhere I know I'll find it here. The whole place is cozy, even homey, and everyone I bring there finds it absolutely delightful. They provide so much more than food/drink options that I can't possibly fit it into this review, but I promise you WILL find something for you there, even if it's just one of their funny little postcards.
Love this place! They have coffee from all over the world and the paraphernalia to go with it! Plus delicious truffles
I started buying my coffee and spices from The Spice Merchant over 42 years ago. My daughter and I love to go see what they are doing each time we go to Wichita, KS. While we stick with the San Francisco Blend coffee, we buy several of their wonderful teas. We also keep a great stock of Bob's "Ten Blend". These spices are great to use when cooking or grilling meet. Even better, using Ten Blend in your vegan cooking gives food a hearty flavor. Their other spices are great. We buy our cocoa and other cooking and kitchen supplies. They sell tea and coffee pots and other similar items. For B-days and holidays, we buy our favorite people a super mug (or basket) and fill it with spices, tea, or coffee. You'll love the old time Wichita architecture of their building.
Best place for fresh ground coffee in fantastic, unique flavors (or not, if that's your cup of brew), finding illusive spices and ingredients you never realized you needed, or that perfect random little gadget or kitsch to spice up your kitchen. I haven't been to the tea shop side yet, but I hear it's freaking spectacular.
Would go here just for the smell alone. Wonderful place to stock up on all sorts of flavors of coffee (they have it in whole bean, but will grind it for you if you need it). Also, they have every seasoning imaginable and their supply is always of very high quality, thus it is a great place to find herbs, spices, and flavors that may be hard to find other places. There is an attached tea center as well, if you're into that.
With an extensive selection of types, sizes, and quality tea; this is a must stop for the Tea Drinker that loves to make their own and enjoy. Stop in and give yourself a 10 minute walk around. The staff is helpful to questions and needs. Definitely recommend.
This is my first trip to the Spice Merchant. I never in my life expected such an amazing place to shop for all things coffee and tea related. The smell alone delighted my senses. Just thinking about the shop's aroma makes me want to go back for more. While I was there I purchased a bag of Tanker Fuel whole coffee beans and a nice portable coffee mug for the husband for his birthday and some Monk's Blend tea and a lovely mermaid tea cup. What I loved the most was the fragrance of the place. The smell stuck to me and my clothing for several hours after I had left.Great service, great selection, what gem in the heart of downtown Wichita.
