It was amazing! Service was amazing!
We sat in the main room by the bar. Cara took excellent care of us. We were not ignored in the slightest. Granted it was a Wednesday night. And not overly busy. But none the less it was above and beyond. I hope on my next visit. If Cara has seating available. In today's world we need more young people with care for what they do.
Stopped in for lunch with my son. The restaurant was fairly busy but we were seated promptly. Our waitress arrived quickly and took our drink order. She was attentive throughout our visit. We ordered domestic beers which were only available in tall boy cans. Not our preference but we could have pick something else. My son ordered the chicken strips and fries. The strips had no flavor and the chicken was dry. I had the Midnight Marauder sandwich with chips and dip. The meat on the sandwich was very dry. Chips were either extra crispy or slightly soft. The French onion dip was very good as always. Going to be awhile before I return.
Been going there since I moved here three years ago, food is always consistently good, wait staff is friendly, atmosphere is casual and fun!
Stopped in for a late lunch, thankfully didn't wait long for a table. Had fried pickles as an appetizer, which had a good pickle to breading ratio. Three entrees: cheesesteak (spicy variation), poutine, and club sandwich. We all agreed that we'd prefer the fries to be cooked longer, but overall our food was tasty.
The Anchor has for almost a decade been one of our favorite restaurants. I always got the Pastrami sandwich with the Russian dressing and homemade potato chips with dip. Tonight the pastrami was extremely tough and chewy. The chips were not fully cooked and cold. I won’t be going back anytime soon.
Easy to find and came to me highly recommended, with good reason! Unique menu options as well as drinks. Staff were courteous and welcoming, despite my Dad and I being way overdressed (on our way home from a memorial service). Admittedly, I geeked out taking photos of the place because I was planning to leave a solid review for them. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!
Top notch all around. Amazing staff, extensive curated beer selection!
Great food. Bathrooms left a little to be desired and brought up questions about cleanliness. But the food was awesome!
Definitely the worst service I’ve ever experienced at restaurant downtown. The two hosts were rude and dismissive, then the guy who sat us wouldn’t let us sit at an open booth, even though it wasn’t busy at all. Instead he sat us next to a large party where it was understandably noisy. After sitting there for about 15 minutes, and not getting waited on, we asked to be waited on. The girl who came and took our order was incredibly rude. First, my husband asked for a recommendation on the salad dressing and her response was that she doesn’t eat that stuff. Then, I asked for my starter salad to be delivered before my meal so my food wouldn’t get cold. Her response was, only if they give it to me this time… what in the actual heck?! We sat there for about 10 minutes, long enough to realize she was serious. Then, we made an excuse and bounced without eating. We ended up going to PourHouse, which offered amazing service and delicious food. I do NOT recommend The Anchor. It was an awful experience. My husband and I have never walked out of a restaurant like that, but they were so horrible in how they treated us. The thing is, downtown Wichita is a competitive market and there are tons of great places to eat where you will be treated with dignity and respect. This place is sadly not one of them.
