Why is the wait so long? There’s two cars ahead of me and one has ordered. It’s now been 15 minutes and I’m sitting at the speaker waiting for someone to take my order. I was greeted with, “one moment please” but there’s literally no one in front of me? Never had bad food but the line is always so slow. I deliver for door dash and it doesn’t matter off for work or personal the line appears takes way too long. It’s just this store, that is always slow every single time day or night busy or not they just don’t move very fast.
Usually pretty good. Today staff was overwhelmed. Manager was lamenting about how employees didn't bother to show up or call in. Appeared drive-in was taking priority over customers waiting to order in line at the register.
I don't know why, but everytime i come to this popeyes there's an issue. 9/10 they're going to be out of something which you know what that's fine i can always get something else. But in the ten seconds it takes you to pull up to the window and pay they already forgot what you ordered. It took them like ten minutes just to get my food out and it was still wrong. The girl working at the window forgot not only my drink but also my side. I noticed the drink before I pulled away but I didn't think to ask about the side since it's literally their job to make sure my order is right. I didn't think a 3pc chicken combo with mashed potatoes would be very difficult but I stand corrected. Safe to say i'll be choosing a different location in the future.
Whenever we go to the Popeyes on Pawnee and Seneca, the Staff is always really nice, I Love their food, their Pot Pies, that's a meal in itself, I always call ahead and ask them to fry my food fresh, whether I'm getting 28 Wings, chicken Strips or Pot Pies, they always let me know how long it will take, so I will be there as soon as it comes up, they have no problem frying it fresh, my food is always hot and fresh tasting when I pick it up, I really appreciate that. Have always loved Popeyes chicken until I got it from the new Republic store. The tenders were hard, dry, inedible and expensive. So very disappointed. We won't be back.
At 7:30pm this evening, I ordered an 8 piece meal from Popeyes drive thru. I was disappointed they didn't have cajun rice as advertised on their menu, but the biggest disappointment was the chicken I received was so dried out it was like jerky meat. I am a native of Louisiana and this Hillside location restaurant is NOT serving fresh, quality cajun food. It's an insult to cajun cuisine.
This Popeyes is single handed the worst in wichita. I am met with an extremely long wait time. Then after the 20 min wait, I am met at the window with fast sharp rudeness. Where was that fast paced work when preparing my food? Regardless, I see three people standing there chit chatting the entirety of my wait time in plain sight. My order was 15$… I’m not paying 15$ for laziness. To top it all off, not only did they get my order wrong (three tenders with fries… not complicated) they shoved the 2 bone in thighs under my French fries, so at first glance when I check my food at the window it looks fine. They deliberately messed up my order and knew that if they hid it under my fries, they could avoid a confrontation. When I called, their excuse was that there is new employees…. There was no apology or anything. I will be coming in, getting my refund, and never eating at this location ever again. I am also going to urge people I know not to go to this location. What an absolutely inappropriate way to treat someone.
I am making an exception for this place. I normally will never rate a chain restaurant above 3 stars. The reason this deserves an exception is that it is consistently the best Popeyes I have ever visited, not just in Wichita, but anywhere. Every once in a while I get a hankering for Popeyes and i will drive out of my way to come to this one even though two are closer to me.
Went today to get some lunch after being at the hospital all day and the only thing I can say was good is the tea! I ordered 2 meals (only got one) and the order I did receive was still not correct. The lady at the window did not say 1 word to me after taking my order at the speaker. I definitely will not be returning!
This Popeyes is WAY BETTER, than the one on Central Ave by my home. Friendly and fast service. Food was pretty good too.
