I've been here twice now. Once, several years ago in the evening with my husband, and again just recently with my young children on a weekday at lunchtime. The first visit, it wasn't super busy, and I got Mexican food. It was OK, but not as good as a lot of Mexican I've had other places. This time, I had a reuben and salad. I was excited because their reuben didn't have any cheese (that I could tell), which, for me being sensitive to dairy, is a good thing! It meant that the sandwich was designed to taste good even without the cheese. And it wasn't drippy or super fatty and chewy like some I've had other places. My girls got a grilled cheese (which looked PERFECT with crispy cheese on the edges and thick and gooey stretchy cheese in the middle, and a pb/banana sandwich (also completely devoured). My mom got the BBQ and beans. The BBQ sandwich seemed a tad small, but the beans she said were delicious, even commenting that beans can be hit and miss, but that these were really good. The brownie for dessert was warm, but too dry on the edges. The chocolate sundae shake my mom and daughter shared was VERY good, (I did taste it, even with my dairy issue I couldn't resist just a tiny bit) and came in a tall glass with the metal shake cup with the extra also brought.The place was surprisingly busy for a Tuesday lunch, but even so the waitstaff was friendly and helpful, and the wait for food wasn't super long. Only one single bathroom though, which meant my little kids did have a bit if a wait at the end. Still, it was a good time.
Always busy during the lunch time, but service is quick. Was able to get seated and order. The club sandwich is what I come here for, but there are other great sandwiches, sides, and desserts.
My first time in Kansas on a business trip and this place was the first place I had food in. Their club sandwiches are to die for and their shakes are heavenly. The place is SO CUTE with an old town charm and the staff are super kind. Will be back!
Yesterday was my first visit to OLD Mill tasty shop and place was an amazing experience for my group. The staff was so kind and thoughtful. They ensured my extremely unsatisfied with anything 2 year old had his drink, a bowl of ice to chomp on, a d some crackers to tie him over to lunch. Thank you for your kindness. It made me feel confident enough I could finish my lunch without a large meltdown, and myself trying to gather my stuff and scurry out in a hurry when he gets upset.On another note food was great, quick, and served with a smile! Serious the waitstaff was amazing!Get some old fashioned ice cream and pop, and enjoy lunch. ?Thank you! Please keep it up!
Had our work meeting there today. I didn't catch our servers name, but she was AWESOME. She brought us samples of nearly every item on the menu because we had never been before. She was super attentive and very very knowledgeable. Please give her the biggest high five for me. She deserves a raise!!!

Great place for a quick, affordable and tasty lunch or snack in downtown Wichita. Has a good small town, retro feel without trying too hard.The last time I went I actually got the peanut butter, banana and honey sandwich. While it was super simple it really hit the spot. For the side I got the kettle chips which are pretty good as well.
I've loved eating at The Old Mill Tasty Shop for decades. The service is friendly and the food is always fantastic. I'm addicted to the crab salad with a chocolate shake. Yum!
I love this place. I used to eat here a lot more when I did more street photography. I may start doing that again. Amazing food. Lovely atmosphere. Honestly, you should stop here if you can. Seriously, eat here lol. I also order the Hot Turkey Pastrami.
What can I say? Absolutely fantastic! Ordered a half carrot cake and had a snafu on the placement of the order (those darn sticky notes get you every time). Staff did a great job to get one done on time for the Chiefs game on Sunday. I will be back again!
