Love the fried tacos, I really enjoyed the Felipe's Special combo. Too much food for one setting, ask for a togo box. The tamales and monterrey's are favorites as well!There's a outdoor cantina area
Wow... I am upset with myself for living in Wichita for 4 years and just now eating at Felipe's. Felipe's is the best Mexican restaurant in Wichita, in my opinion of course ? I am moving out of of Wichita soon, but I will visit again. A 5 star no doubt. There are other great grab and go type of Mexican establishments, but for a nice, sit down family experience with a drink, this is the best.*** keep in mind I did not grow up in a home in which Mexican food was freshly prepped, nor have I visited Mexico. Was some od the best fajitas i had in a long time the meat to veggie ratio was good along with the meat balance. The civiache was good but pretty standard.
Awful. Just awful!! Everything is always greasy! No flavor on the chicken, hubby got burritos and they were bland, the mild salsa is like marina sauce instead of salsa, it always poor service! Do NOT recommend this location!! The one on Harry is the best in town
Disclaimer - 20 years of living in TX and grew up in a house that made our own tortillas and beans. Ok that said, pretty good stuff. We had the regular queso, the texture is good but could use some zip. My teens got a burrito and chimi, one inhaled it and was miraculously full! The other could only eat half! I tried the sopes with chicken. Interesting and good but a little bland, a patty of mass harina (think moist dense corn tortilla it's good) layered with beans, choice of meat, lettuce and queso fresco (crumbled light tangy cheese) I added some guacamole and salsa. We finished with a fried cheesecake -proclaimed too sweet by a teen, fried ice cream (coated in cinnamon toast crunch) proclaimed really good by both teens and mini sopapillas-some of the best I've had in Wichita! The family already knows what they want next time.
1. Taste:We ordered a veggie burrito and a Chimichanga (which looked more like a burrito). The taste was bland and had lots and lots of onions in it. I literally had to remove them before I could eat the rest. The chips and salsa were the only good thing to eat. Definitely not a good place for vegetarians as there are almost no vegan/ vegetarian options available.2. Ambience:The music that was being placed was too loud and the lighting was too dull.3. Service:Service was ok. However, the attendant seemed a little disinterested in letting us know the vegan options. They can definitely be a little more friendlier and polite.
