Service was ok. They had our waitress waiting tables and bar tending, which I couldn't understand because they had plenty of waitstaff. She wasn't a bad waitress, just wasn't around. Food on the other hand, not worth the price. The chicken wonton things for almost $10.00 for 4, was not worth it. They were bland and disgusting. My husband said the mushroom swiss burger was decent. I had the pretzels and cheese, kinda hard to screw that up. Definitely an east side rich people's place, that do not know really good food, but just want to be where their type hangs out.
Came on a weekday for lunch. They were not that busy at 11am, but was before we left around noon. The server was nice and we received our order promptly. The Mac and Cheese was really good a very cheesy, however the sandwich was average at best.
I took my friend out for her birthday lunch on a Saturday afternoon at 1pm. They were really busy because of March Madness it seemed. The bar was really backed up so our drinks took 20 minutes or so. We both ordered a cocktail that wasn’t anything special for $8 unfortunately. It tasted like there wasn’t any alcohol in it and I got 3 sips for $8. I was disappointed. We ordered an appetizer that also took a long while to come out. We finally get our appetizer and then receive our food a couple minutes after. I do not like getting the appetizer and my meal directly after. It’s silly. I ordered a burger medium well. I should have said no pink at all because the burger was rare and disgusting. I took a couple bites and realized and felt nauseated. A picture of the burger is attached. I haven’t gotten sick but I very well could have after being served that. The cook considered this to be medium well. The waitress we had was amazing throughout the entire experience and did a great job at making things right. She was super sweet and was working really hard. I was brought a new burger and all was well. For my first time visiting this establishment, I was not impressed with the food, drinks, or the cooks. It wasn’t worth the money to me. The server was the best part of the entire experience and the only reason I would consider possibly going back a second time.
Start by saying back of the house is on point, because food is great and is out in a timely manner! The front of the house needs a lot of work. The staff uses a tag team method of serving that results in a disorganized team. Things like drink refills, add ons to meals and getting your check brought to your table are the most frequently missed things. After dozens of attempts at this establishment I believe the key issue is a bad workplace culture and management. The management prioritizes having a flirtatious relationship with the mostly female serving staff rather than carrying out the mission of the restaurant. In turn the female servers prioritize a flirtatious relationship with a handful of regulars and single male customers. This behavior jeopardizes their mission and the investment of the owners and leads to a negative guest experience. The mens restroom is very often dirty which is a sign that other scheduled cleanings are not being done. PLEASE have the manager of Oak & Pie become an upper level manager and oversee your operations. She can fix Deano's. We desperately want nice places to go out and eat close to our home.
It was my first time there and I was impressed. It was a nice casual atmosphere. The servers are friendly and attentive. I didn't have a chance to try any food but I'm definitely going back. Great happy hour drink specials all week long.
The shrimp tacos were fabulous! Our server was amazing due to her memorization (no pad for party of 6) with drink order and supper. She was attentive and brought items before being requested. Cute restaurant and great food, drinks were delicious too! Enjoy!
Had a great burger in here the other night. Wow juicy and cooked just right. All the veggies for dressing and a nice amount of fresh hot French fries. Very friendly helpful waitress. Super drinks well poured and the happy hour was a welcome surprise. Lotta TVs to catch all the games. Sadly even KU vs Kentucky. What a joke that one was.
Great food! Very lively atmosphere with multiple TV's if you're watching the game. The staff was responsive to whatever was needed & quick on bringing the drinks! Great place!
Took over 25 minutes to get our meal. I saw customers come in, eat and leave while we were still waiting for our meal. Took over ten minutes to get a drink refreshed after ordered. Probably will not go back soon.
My sister had been there once before and had really like it so she wanted to take me. I always forget to take pictures but the restaurant is very nice, and the food presentation is also. We were not greeted at the door and had to get the attention of the, otherwise friendly, wait staff. I thought the selection was different than in a lot of other places. We ordered from the "Starters" menu and it was enough for the lunch meal. We shared the Wonton Chipotle Chicken Bites(5) and a House Salad, and we actually shared both. Then we ordered the pretzel chocolate brownie and, Oh My!, it was VERY good!! From my experience, I would recommend Deano's.
