Cameo Cakes used for be the most extravagant beautiful cake shop, possibly in all the country. I even traveled with a cake on the plane once. They always had the most beautiful and thoughtfully designed cakes. I remember my sweet 16 cake being so over the top magical. ~ and that was 11 years ago. They could design the best looking and tasting cakes even only on a few days notice. ~ after this new ownership. My mom ordered a cake for my brother's birthday. And it was just a sheet cake with random collaged images on it. My mom wanted the cake to be based off the images. Not just the images on the cake. Eee. The cake still tasted well luckily. It was just kinda rough to see. ~ I want to give Cameo Cakes another chance after that incident. But I may need some time. I hope the new owner can ask Vicky how she brainstormed all these creative ideas, and not just the recipes. I miss the feeling of being excited to go into Cameo Cakes and see what new things are created. I hope this brings some inspiration! Thank you :)
Candi and her team really came through for us!! On the day of a friends wedding, their cake had collapsed. They made me a cookie cake, double layered and I loved it. The chocolate chips were evenly spaced and had the perfect amount of chocolate chips in the cookie. Everything about the cake was excellent and I would go back again and get another cake!!
I ordered a cake on Tueday for pickup on Friday. I paid for the upgrade of having a marble cake. I paid for a larger cake. I then explained one of the 4 birthday kids on the cake is a boy,make it Spring like "make it a lot of blues and a lot of greens but roses all over the cake".. We were there as soon as they opened the door. The cake was not ready. On thier behalf, we did not wait long. However when I was presented with my cake, I thought it was absolutely hideous. I was embarrassed taking this cake to the party. I wish I could upload a picture of just how ugly this cake was. We had 2 roses tiny little roses over in the corners of the cake of the cake and I guess it's supposed to be a carnation done with a rose tip in a hideous blue color in 2 corners of the cake it was absolutely atrocious. I asked them for standard American butter cream as well and the flavor was bad. I certainly would not recommend.Chef Dunning
I asked for a cake and if they couldnt do it that's all they had to say but instead they designed it how they wanted to charged me for edible images that I didnt get offered to fix it but how smearing everything off just a waste of $75 bucks total rip off its looks like my 7 year designed this cake so disappointed will never go back
i been with cameo over 35 years i was very sad when i heard my girl Vickie was going to sell cameo cakes and i didn't know what i was going to do when i needed a cake made cause she was the best there was not one thing Vickie could not make and im going to really miss her so since she sold cameo and there are new owners now and I was told that everything will be left the same all the recipes everything that Vickie had the new owners now have it so i decided to order a cake for my daughter baby shower i told them how i wanted it and i wanted done the way i know Vickie will do it well picked it up today 03/26/2022 and i was very very mad this cake was so nasty and it didnt look white at all it had wholes all in it was not moist at all i told them specific i wanted just like the way Vickie will make it they said yea we can do it i said ok you know when you have Vickies recipes it shouldnt be a problem right well it was a problem this cake as i was saying was horrible taste like a spongecake Vickie cakes are nice and smooth no holes very moist not this cake there not open on Mondays but when tuesday come that cake will be going back i want my money back there not using Vickies recipe there using there own and it looks like milk was added in this cake anybody that knows Vickie cakes like i do the new owners cakes dont compare to Vickie cakes at all and i wont never go back to cameos again do not order any cakes from these new owners you are wasting your money again i been with Vickie and rick over 35 years i know what they cake taste like and the new owners are not even close to it it taste like a walmart or dillions cake or somebody that just dont know how to make cakes only way i go to Cameo Cakes unless my girl come back and i know that wont happen so i will go without my cameo cakes i paid 65.00 dollars for this cake and believe me it will be taken back on tuesday
My family has used cameo cakes for 15 + years, but since switching owners it’s not the same. Wanted cookies for a baby shower, they ended up nothing like we expected. They were iced very sloppy, and the baby image was suppose to say the word Baby not have an image of a baby. They were also not ready at the time they were suppose to be ready. I’m so disappointed. The woman in line in front of me had an issue with her order being wrong as well.
Vickey and her staff have made cookies, cakes and flavorful artistic work for my family over 20 yrs. She and husband will be missed but the New Owner has learnt her recipes and work. So will be ordering hopefully a few more years as I get older.. Great place!!
Everyone that works here is very talented! I came to them with a custom cake idea that they had never done before and exceeded my expectations. Not only was it the exact look I wanted but it was also a very delicious cake. Their icing is top tier!
