This was our third visit to Blue Hook and our second having Aaron as our server. I cannot even begin to express what a wonderful server he is. He is polite, courteous, attentive, and truly cares about the guest experience. We have a special needs son, and servers are often intimidated by that, he was not - thank you! The combination of his service and the amazing food makes Blue Hook our favorite place to go in Wichita. Kudos to the ownership and management for employing such wonderful people and producing such unforgettable cuisine! Now, if I could only get the recipe for that "All In" sauce, life would be perfect!

Very rude customer service!!! Food was cold by the time it got to the table. Waitress was extremely rude to the entire table, she also didn’t know anything about the menu/food, and only came by for our order and never returned. I will not recommend this place to anybody I know. I will also not be returning to this place again. I regret my entire decision to go give it a try. To be fair, I was pretty excited try it before I actually did. I don’t see this place lasting very long at all.

Tried to make reservations, online, for our birthday party of 12 but the website said they don't do reservations for parties over 7. So tried to call but the phone was continuously busy. We had to just show up and hope they could accommodate us. And, even though they were nearly a full house, they did and we were seated in about 15 minutes. They sat us next to the kitchen, and bathrooms, which had it's bad points and it's good points. To our surprise, and enjoyment as we are a musical family, there was live music. Our waitress was fabulous and the food was fantastic!! We ordered several different appetizers, which were all very good. I got the Garlic Noodles with chicken and it seemed to multiply as I ate! The staff sang their version of a Happy Birthday song to our birthday "boy", well as at 4-5 other tables. Very generous portions and nearly everyone left with leftovers! No one left unsatisfied! Pretty pricey, but we had looked at their menu online so expected it. I highly recommend Blue Hook!Forgot to take pictures, except of our party members.
Food was great. Service was EXCEPTIONAL! I got 1/2 lb shrimp & 1/2 lb sausage with a appetizer of jalapeno crab sticks (crab and cream cheese stuffed into a jalapeno and fried) sauce on the side, my sister got the same, mom got the 1 lb shrimp...and non alcoholic beverages are included with your meal! Great value for the price!!!

Today was first experience at Blue Hook and definitely my last. Now I will admit the food was good not amazing but better than most seafood restaurants around here. I had a total group of four and we were sat fairly quickly without a reservation but with that being said the customer service and the overall experience was egregious and I refuse to leave a positive review just because the food was somewhat up to par. We ordered some waters as well as adult beverages after being sat (mind you we waited 15-20 minutes before a server even approached the table). It took another about 20-30 minutes before the two draft beers and one mixed drink arrived at the table after being ordered. No big deal I brushed it off considering I'm enjoying the day the weather and company within the group. This was the most unprofessional and undisciplined group of workers that i have probably ever experienced in a restaurant setting. To allow employees to wear Du rags while waiting tables, sag their pants and not be in uniform while having signs posted at server stations stating they must be in uniform otherwise they will be sent home amongst other rules and guidelines employees should follow. On another note when the server was asked for a to go box by someone in my group her response was "You want a box for that?". Now he had a half of a fried catfish left as well as a half of a bowl of fried rice left but with that being said we are paying customers and regardless of what he or she had left, we paid for the food and didn't need any comment as to why we needed a to go box. Management needs to do a better job at either training their employees on customer service or be replaced along with most of the staff.
