Decent Burger and friendly service. Poor value. The burgers are made to order. They are good but for the price, there are better options. I ordered the lowest priced burger, the Classic Burger, priced at $10.50. This doesn't include fries. A regular side order of fries will add $3.50 to your bill or $4.00 if you want the cajun seasoning. I didn't really appreciate that they request a tip but don't bring your meal to your table, plus they add a 15% "Hospitality Fee". An explanation of the Hospitality Fee was printed on the receipt. It was very clear that " This service fee is not gratuity" It feels a bit preachy. We did go a bit early, so the restaurant wasn't too busy. I noticed several employees kind of standing around, hanging out near the ordering stand. Been there once, not worth a return trip.
Classic hamburger, hot dog, onion rings, water, pop $40. Basic food, nothing special. 15% hospitality fee while you get your own food, drinks, and condiments. Food wasn't any good. To be honest it was kinda gross. Excited to try it but won't come back. We felt cheated. Who am I tipping? Not interested in emails and its not my responsibility to compensate your employees its yours. What kind a bernie sanders operation is this? If the employees are struggling they should move on. Goofy liberal hangout to drink fruity beers.
I was in Topeka visiting and had heard good things as bout this burger place so we placed as pick up order. I ordered my burger med because I didn't want a dry piece of meat. It was cooked well done and the edges of it were burned so dry I could hardly eat it. Others said theirs wasn't that good either. Not worth 117 I paid for six people to eat. I won't visit next time I'm in town. Will stick with Spangles or make my own
Good time and atmosphere. Lady bartenders had good customer service. My son had the kids burger and I had a bunless black bean burger
I visited the Burger Stand for the first time last week since they moved. The first thing I noticed was the lack of customers. There was always a pretty good crowd when I dined there in the past but not this day. I think there was a total of maybe 5 people counting me. It could have just been a slow day but I'm guessing the pricing may have had something to do with it. I was charged $18.00 for a hamburger and a side of onion rings!! Of course that included the "mandatory" gratuity. I wish I had noticed that sign before I handed over the money. Your food is good Burger Stand but not worth the prices you charge. Not to me anyway. I won't be back.
We had a smoke burger, the holy jalapeño made with grilled chicken and truffle fries. Everything was recommended by the gentleman behind the counter. The food was excellent we planned on taking some home but ate it all. The chicken was juicy not dry and many extra sauces available if needed. Michael was the very knowledgeable bartender who recommended a couple of local IPAs my husband enjoyed. I enjoyed the old fashioned. He just received a smoker machine and I was lucky enough to be one of the first ones to try a lightly smoked old fashioned. Oh my wish, I lived closer to the Burger Stand! I would be a regular!
I ended up having a salad here because I wasn't very hungry and was very happy with what I got. I also heard that the marshmallow sauce was surprisingly good with the sweet potato fries.
We went as a family of 5. So this was an extremely expensive meal for 4 of us to share a basket of fries. The food was ok. Not worth the price tag. But my main complaint is the same as many reviewers. (I wish I would have read prior to going.) 15% gratuity for the same level of service I get at McDonald's or any other fast food burger joint. No wait staff. No one checks on you after you sit. You order at the counter. Get your own food. Bus your own table. I read the responses from the restaurant about paying a living wage. You either need to take that out of your profits....or make a service model that deserves tips. I usually tip 15-20%. I would not have tipped here, because we received no service other than cash register and the cook. Before you say that's not how it's supposed to be. That is a common theme in the reviews. Not an isolated incident. That is how it is. I felt cheated, and will not go back.If I would had received good service I would have been happy to give 15%. Great service I would have left an additional tip.
Absolutely no complaints. Was recommended to try this by a friend and it did not disappoint! The burger was top notch. I'd be happy to come back here anytime.
By far the best privately owned burger joint I’ve been to in KS. They have a good selection of burgers and misc. I had the classic burger with truffle fries. Both were very good. I highly recommend trying all their condiments. The pickles and coca-chipotle ketchup were great. I’ll definitely come back when I’m off work and enjoy a burger and beer.
