We showed up at 6:50 and before even being greeted, the girl at the front told us they are only doing orders to go. I asked why and she seemed annoyed and said they were getting ready to close. Their sign says they are open til 8. We just left.
Put in my order for curbside at 12 to pick up at 12:45, I got there at 12:50 to pick it up and called in. The girl who answered the phone claimed that they had JUST received the order and that it would be another 10 minute and that I could just come inside for it, they refused to bring it out to me when it was ready. I have 2 toddlers. When I order curbside it’s not being lazy. I’m given the choice of either having to leave them in the vehicle unattended or unload them to go inside. It’s not right and it’s sheer laziness on the employees part. If they were actually busy inside I’d understand but they weren’t, no one was in line to order, the only people there were already seated and eating. I won’t be going to this location again.
I came in to place an order just before 6pm. A young lady that works there was out on the floor visiting with the only other customer in the place for literally about 5 minutes and was the only person I could find working there. She finally came to wait on me and at the same time another very unpleasant young lady came out from the back and just started with a rude attitude and seem like she was annoyed that I was there. The first young lady told her that she would take my order and finally did. The order was prepared in a quick enough time thankfully, but very frustrating to have to wait when trying to get home after a full day of work. No care for service whatsoever.
Schlotzsky's on Gage is much better than the one at 29th and Topeka boulevard.No matter what I order it's always good, it's fresh and hot and the staff is also very friendly.
It was a sad day for me, it has been awhile since I have been to a Schlotzsky's, the last time I had a pastrami and Swiss on rye. Love, love, love that sammidge! I chose the beef and bacon smoke cheese today, good sammidge just was not my pastrami. I will have to go thru all the sammidges again to find my favorite, and at $15 a deal it will probably take me longer to find The One. 1 down a bunch more to go!
Two Negatives for the reason of my lower score: Better call ahead before you go to Schlotzsky's because closing time can vary day to day. Also, find out what will be available to eat because they don't serve anything but pizza at least one hour before they close. I know, it's gotten a little crazy there.
Good food, nice people. Sandwich made after order, so not instantaneous. Senior discount of 10%. Employees all masked, but it's just silly: 1) not N95s, 2) not one mask worn correctly, from under nose to under chin. Like I said, silly. I blame the Manager.
The guy making the sandwiches was kind and very respectful. The lady at the counter, you could tell she didn't want to be there. We sat down and ate, I guess she didn't like where she sat because she stared at us the whole time and made us feel uncomfortable. Then we didn't even get a chance to get our food thrown away and she was standing right next to us with a mop, talk about making you feel unwanted. Kudos to the guy making the sandwiches you should keep him. As for the girl I would move on from her if you want to keep guests coming back.
The staff and food was outstanding! So glad I had the chance to stop. ? Was so good ?
Doordashers are not allowed to have any part in making an order, including drinks. We will get fired if we do this. So I have already contacted doordash and today I'm contacting schlotzskys corporate. That is y'all's job, not a doordashers. Do your job. Every order I take from here if they ask me to do the drinks the customer will not be getting drinks and that'll be on y'all.
