Blackbird is my favorite coffee shop in Topeka. It is close to where I live so it is convenient and easy to get to. I get the same thing every time iced coffee and it is awesome!! The baristas are friendly. I would highly recommend it
We got coffee and several pastries. The place was very busy. Everyone seemed to be enjoying their food and conversation. It was great.
Great working environment! I tried an iced caramel macchiato and loved it! Overall, the staff was super nice and accommodating and the drink was out super fast!
Won't ever go back, but understand what happened.Public library opened later than I thought, so I came here to stay warm kill two hours. It was chilly this morning, and I was cycling. Blackbird had a long line when I arrived. I went ahead studying before ordering.Batista forget to get a table their coffee. Guy asked about it and line still long. I decided to wait more because they were busy.Later when it calmed, I come out the bathroom and basically told buy or get out, menu also shoved at me.Order my coffee then. Asked to have my coffee at pick up when I leave to keep it warm. Pick up my coffee and manager lady still visibly flustered. Really didn't need to be at a 10.I am not going there again. I am now comfy at the library. I am a student, and the library has a lot of people who have it rough, but I feel much more comfortable here :) than at the Blackbird. Even though the library smells like feces sometimes and will have the occasional loon, including myself ;)*Also, while leaving, I was biking behind a car. I am experienced and know ou're not supposed to bike on sidewalks. Older lady almost turns into me and tries to put it on me. I just shrugged and went on. This area is just one to avoid. Too much chaos, not enough chill and love life.Capitalism ?, gotta love it
They have vegan and gluten free deserts. I am dairy and gluten intolerant this is amazing that they cater to all needs. Love it and thank you I was ever so excited I could have a cookie instead of watching my daughter and husband eat something yummy.
My hubby and I had the loaded baked potato soup from there yesterday. It was amazing! His only “complaint” there was too much stuff in his soup! ? would definitely eat it again! I will be watching the menu for this.
This is my favorite local coffee shop. They have a wide variety of pastries and desserts in the case each day. The caramel bread pudding is my favorite, but it runs out fast on the weekend. I also love the Mediterranean Turkey Sandwich and potato salad. I haven't had a bad meal here. It's cozy and welcoming, and I'm glad it's part of Topeka.
It's pricey and, like all cafes, you occasionally deal with some wait times for food while busy. Still, my favorite coffee shop in Topeka. Drinks are always fast and usually perfect.Everyone who works there is super friendly and provides great service except for one guy who's always salty about being at work, and it shows. Not that you have to smile while making coffee, but everytime I encounter him, I feel bad for his co-workers who are all just the sweetest.
I love stopping in at Blackbird for my iced coffee. Miguel always knows that I order an iced coffee and even if I haven't been in in a while he still treats me with respect and kindness. The baristas are amazing. The young ladies who work there are sweet and helpful. The sandwiches and salads are incredible. In the warmer weather I love sitting outside and chatting with friends. I know the pandemic has been so hard for small businesses and I am so so thankful Blackbird has remained strong during this time.
Great atmosphere, food, and beer.
