A very cute little breakfast restaurant! The staff were super friendly and service was amazingly fast. The inside of this place has a variety of paintings on the walls that you can purchase. The hash browns were amazing but the croissant was a little over toasted. Overall the food was decent.
We had a large group and they accommodated us very well. Food was good and the staff was very friendly. Definitely will go back.
My family really enjoyed our waiter. He seems like a really nice young man and it is good to see that this place cares enough about all people to hire someone who are socially slower. He was amazing and served with a great attitude. I am giving this place a 4 star rating because the owner (older guy) was overbearing on the staff and was always in customers business. I understand being personable but this was a little much. It reminds me of Amy's Bistro from Kitchen Nightmares. The difference is The Wooden Spoon is really nice and the food is great. The owner just need to real himself back in a little and not be in the customers business each time they talk to a waiter or waitress.
Was in Kansas City for the weekend with my mom doing some shopping. Found this little restaurant and so glad we did. The staff was extremely friendly and the food was fantastic! We had the creme brulee French toast in the lemon ricotta pancakes, then we shared so we could try both. So delicious, we will definitely be back next time we are in Kansas City!
Easy to find near the highway with plenty of parking. A nice atmosphere with friendly staff who go out of the way to make you feel at home. Since it was a nice morning the princess and I chose to eat outside and we both enjoyed the food very much. Worth the stop
Great team of people here. We were made to feel welcome and the atmosphere felt like home. More than once, one of the team went out of there way to assure that our experience was delightful. A showcase of beautiful artwork adorned the walls, giving us a visual treat as we dined. The food was exceptional with great flavor and creativity infused into traditional classic dining. Would love to visit again!
We had the Mexican Breakfast Burrito and Denver Omelette. The coffee was great. Had some sour doe toast with butter and home made jam. Also tried a side of Corned Beef Hash. Gotta say, I enjoyed it all so much I even forgot to take photos!! They even have some awesome art hanging from local artists and it’s all for sale. Service was top notch. Thanks.

They have the best corned beef hash I've found in Kansas City and the Creme Brulee French Toast is delectable. Second week we've been here, and we'll be back.
The Wooden Spoon is a wonderful breakfast and lunch spot. They have typical diner food, but also have an excellent variety of vegetarian options. As a former vegetarian, I really appreciate having good meatless options, like the falafels. I also love the BLT as a current meat eater. The staff is always friendly and the service is great. The owners are very friendly and have a passion for limiting their negative impact on the environment. I love that their takeaway containers are all microwave and dishwasher safe so you can use them over and over before eventually recycling. I would highly recommend the Wooden Spoon!
