Wow! We did a barbecue weekend. Three places in three days. Q39 was the hands down winner. The meats on the spare tube did literally fall off the bones. The other two restaurants were good but this food was exceptional. Yum yum yum. The cole slaw has an interesting addition of the Granny Smith apple and the burnt ends in the beans were a nice surprise. Highly recommend.

My boyfriend and I had lunch here and it was awesome! We tried the Mac and cheese which was really good. We ordered the Mr. Burns sandwich with beans as a side and the Southern Pride sandwich with fries. I loved the chipotle ketchup for the fries. Also on the Southern Pride sandwich I swapped out the spicy slaw for the mild slaw and it was zesty without being too spicy. They were really busy for lunch and did a fantastic job of getting our food out quickly,I highly recommend eating here!!

The Mr.Burns and the Triple Threat sandwiches are excellent options for burnt end connoisseurs and smoked sausage lovers, respectively. If you’re from out of town looking for great KC BBQ, Q39 is a must have KC BBQ staple. Q39 encompasses everything there is to love about the BBQ capitol of the world, and you’ll just have to try it yourself to see and taste what I’m talking about. Please do yourself a favor and try the Poutine as an appetizer, you won’t regret it or anything else you order from Q39.

Food is great and Q39 is worth a try.My party had the Judge's Plate, Angus Beef Brisket plate, and the Southern Pride. The meat was delicious, tender, and flavorful on all three. I am surprised there isn't more customization available for the competition plates and the lack of burnt ends. The sides were good but not fantastic. The baked beans had burnt ends in them but none of the amazing burnt end flavor transferred into the beans (and the couple little pieces I had were mainly fat). The fries and orzo pasta salad were fine. I did think the cucumber onion salad was decent.Overall, you certainly should give Q39 a try if you want great BBQ. I recommend your party getting various items and sharing so you can find the items you like most!

First time (finally) trying Q39. Seated quickly. Server was fantastic. Upbeat and attentive. Checked in frequently. Food was amazing. Ribs were amazing. A little bit of char, a good amount of fat content. The brisket was equally amazing. Went to slide a piece across the plate and it pulled right apart. No need to cut with knife or fork. Just pulled apart effortlessly. My husband had the brisket and smoked sausage and he said the sausage was top knotch. ? Finished off with the drop donuts. Delicious. Freshly made. Still warm. Crisp on the outside and melt in your mouth soft on the inside. A great first impression.

I had a customer in town who is from the north and does not get good quality barbecue up there. I knew this would be a great experience for them. Everybody loved the food. They were from Minnesota and shocked to see BBQ poutine on the appetizer menu. That is definitely a great food and that is typically served in northern states in Canada. Nice to see a barbecue flare with it.The wings were absolutely to die for and the burnt ends were amazing

HANDS DOWN THE BEST ! I am a believer… delicious with outstanding service!!! Brooke (waitress) was quick and on the spot ! First start out with getting burn ends as a starter ; then I would recommend you the Judge’s Plate (it won’t disappoint) , the chicken was delicious as well . So much food ….The baked bean are amazing! They also have burn end chunks inside … so delicious. I will definitely be back soon !

We came when dinner service just started and it was not as busy. My kids had the Mac and cheese and it was pretty good. My husband and I had combo plates of half chicken, brisket, and ribs. The brisket was the most tender, fat rendering out and flavorful. My husband ate the ribs so quick because it was falling off the bone. For sides we had baked beans and apple slaw which were both good and accompanied the meats well.

Prior to visiting,I have heard or read reviews about this restaurant;the majority of them was positive. I will say that the food was really good and the meats were fresh! I had the slicked brisket, ribs and seasoned vegetables. The brisket was the best part of the meal as well as the seasoned vegetables! I didn’t like the baked beans at all, but that is also because I’m not the biggest fan of beans but I did hear that they are beans were top notch but it was disappointing to me. Prices were typical for BBQ places. It’s easier to get the combo if you don’t want to spend a lot. This is a very fast pace atmosphere, and the food comes off very quickly which is very rewarding! Waiter was attentive with great customer service.I will definitely return to try out other items,it’s worrth the hype it gets.

When in KC, BBQ is a must and it's different than other parts of the country! They have lots of choices and they are all good. Q39 continues the tradition of KC BBQ. First is about smoking the meats. Good KC BBQ is about smoking and they all have their woods and the good ones do it right! Then it's about the sauce. Know that in KC they generally serve sauce on the side, so you can enjoy that real smoked flavor. Q39 has it all. Their take on the sauce (regular) is a bit sweet, maybe a wee bit of wine or whiskey? It's really good. They have 3 other sauces as well. OF course, they do up burnt ends! KC tradition. But, their ribs and brisket are so full of flavor and smoked to the "fall off the bone" goodness. LOTS of creativity in dishes that combine things... for instance, the burnt end burger!! REALLY good!! Great side dishes as well. Go and enjoy, it's worth it!!
