The transition from 'carry-out only' to offering dine-in service has created an awkward experience. There is a limited amount of tables, five to seven at max; tap water isn't available. Instead, customers must purchase bottled water amongst various other drink options. However, the sushi and service are pretty good and reasonably priced. Their Phoenix Roll tasted fresh with some mild heat. The experience is nothing to call home about, but it seems to be a reliable sushi option in Southern Overland Park.
Kokia is always wonderful! They are prompt if not early on takeout orders, kind and helpful, and every order I've had was perfect. The sushi is wonderful -- special favorites are filet mignon roll and pink lady. Always happy to pick up dinner here!
Seriously the BEST egg drop soup I have ever eaten! Spring rolls are DELICIOUS too!!! Angry dragon roll was delicious and customizable as well!!!! So good I had to leave a review before I even finished my food!!!

It makes me super sad to write this post because I used to go often before COVID and love it.I went back for my first time today and it is not the same as it was. The dining room is super closed off and small. I am not sure why, but the rest of the restaurant is being used for storage and they have way too many tables crammed into this small area. It was very claustrophobic.They also no longer have all you can eat sushi, which is OK. There sushi was still good.Menu prices also did not reflect actual prices, which they do have signs up telling you this, but it's hard to know what to order because you aren't sure what prices are supposed to be.The wait staff and food was great, which is why I am giving it 3 stars.The restaurant itself was very awkward and small and because of that we will not be back again.
Called to ask questions about the menu so I could place a group order online. The lady that answered the phone gave me the run around the whole phone call and even told me that I could just look at the menu online after I had told her multiple times that the menu online did not have the answers to the questions I was asking. Finally, she admitted that she lied to me throughout the phone call. HORRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE!!
