We always have a great experience. The steak was perfectly seasoned and cooked. The scallops were perfectly seared.

Expensive, but an excellent experience. Sound level should be lower for better conversation. For items: Specifically, the crab cake had more filler than expected, and sauce served with it was overpowering. Salmon on maple not really better than on cedar, and glaze (ordered separately) was far sweeter than ideal. Steaks tasty, served appropriately, ordered without seasoning.
We had excellent experience. Our waiter was Saint John and he was superb! Very pleasant informative and made our experience the best!

Server seemed to say nice things, but kept seeming rushed and cutting us off when talking even though it was not crowded and she only had 2 tables in our section. She also seemed "annoyed" with her body language when she was rushing us

Dinner was good. Not the greatest Iâve ever had, but good. Value for $ isnât great. Steak was grisly for supposedly being prime, decently trimmed, and cooked correctly though. Overall, good. But for $150 before tip for 2 people, itâs an expensive value proposition. 3.5 stars.
With so many great restaurants to choose from in Kansas City, J Gilberts offers a consistent and excellent reason to venture into the suburbs. Located in Overland Park KS outside of KC, it provides excellent steaks, seafood and drinks to rival the best of the best throughout the city. Highly recommended to all.
