Each dine-in has been different. First the chefs are great. Second the horrendious wait times for drinks is too much and the waitress dosent speak remotely enough english to discuss their menu options. We are understanding but theres a point where it is just too difficult to order. Main course before appetizers? 20% tip was added to a bill while another bill had extra food on it. Be aware of add ons and enjoy the food!
I am so sorry to have to write this review but my visit was concerning. I hope this helps the establishment address food safety concerns. I sat down, ordered a diet coke and saw a mouse run across the floor into the kitchen. I immediately paid my $3.30 for the diet coke and left. It has haunted me since! I would have liked to have tried this new sushi place but worried about the cleanliness especially when they are serving raw food.
The food is fantastic but my goodness, they price gouge like I’ve never seen! The worst part of this experience was that when I asked for a table as opposed to hibachi, they were quite rude about it and did a heavy visible sigh and eye roll. It made me uncomfortable.
Place was empty around 6 on a Saturday which seemed oddSat and ordered, food came quickly, chef came out and was engaging and entertaining, rest of the staff was just okay.Food was good, still not many people had come in by time we were done eating, and the check came, we paid and signed the receipt, as we were getting our daughter ready a lady came over and looked at the receipt and said we had not left enough of a tip, excuse me?!? First off a tip us not mandatory, and i figured we were just tipping the chef as he was the one doing everything anyways but the lady proceded to tell me that we had to tip more because she needed money for her family, im sorry? Thats not my problem, i tipped based on my experiance with the staff and you cannot tell me that i have to tip more, the tip amount is my choice unless its a pre charged gratuityFirst and last time we go here, place is expensive as is which is fine but staff complains about a tip and sat there and argued with me... sorry to the chef because i changed it to $0.00 because of that he deserved more.
This is the second time we have dined here. The food has been excellent each time. We have had primarily the grill but others seemed to be enjoying the sushi. Our service including the show from the chefs was outstanding. I would recommend a reservation as they tend to be crowded.
I had the hibachi grill combo of filet mignon and lobster. The dinner came with fried rice, vegetables, soup, and salad. Everything was perfect! The portions were generous with a good price point for Hibachi along with everything being well flavored. It also has an authentic atmosphere. Everyone I was with enjoyed their food and overall experience as well and we all got different items but all was liked equally. Its definitely one of the best Japanese Steakhouses I've been to ?. I'd recommend it to anyone who enjoys the Japanese Steakhouse dining experience.
Hakata replaced another Japanese steakhouse in this location, so some of the issues I had may be because they're still working out the kinks. The food was about average and the hibachi chef was entertaining, but the service of drinks, salads and soups was disorganized. The waitress didn't understand many orders and when she delivered the drinks and soups, we had to pass them around ourselves, while sitting with strangers. The couple next to me wasn't too thrilled that my children had all touched their soup bowls on the way to them. I would probably go back, but would be on the lookout for problems like this.
Second time customer, Chef and food were decent as usual. We ordered a roll and never received it. Service can be slow, understaffed. They do have a kid friendly environment complete with walls for them to draw and color on.
Really enjoyed it. The only thing took to long to get a cook and drinks. The food was great once we received it.
Great staff and experience! Loved the atmosphere and had lots of laughs. The food was delicious and there were a lot of options.
