First, I'm not a fan of fried chicken. But then I came here. It's a different spin on any place I've ever been. I tried the onion chicken, garlic soy chicken, spicy garlic soy, and the fried dumplings. One word: WOW. The spicy wings are amazing, combining garlic, soy, and gochujang (perfect for heat and flavor). The chicken was cooked so perfectly! I will be sure to visit every chance I get!
The chicken was good but that was it. When you walk in it’s confusing if you sit down or order up front. We asked and were seated. Waited over 10 minutes before anyone took our order or brought water and restaurant was only 1/3 full on a Friday night. Menu could use some descriptions of what things actually are. Chicken does not come with pickled radish which we enjoy and were expecting. The decor of this place is like a conference center. Waitress never refilled either of our empty water glasses, actually after bringing our food she never returned at all. Had to go to front to get check. There are chicken places with much better ambiance and service close by. Probably won’t be back.
Food and service in the past was always good. The past 3 times things just keep getting worse and worse! This evening was by far the worst experience ever. Dry and burnt food was given and terrible service. Will never go back again! In the past if you show up even an hour before close they will still tell you the kitchen is closed. Service and quality of the food keeps getting worse!
Spicy garlic chicken is the way to go. Get the pitcher of beer, it's worth it and you get chilled glass mugs to make it extra special. Really good chicken, really good service, oh and really good food photography. Great job photographer ?????
I rarely ever review businesses, but felt I should in this case, in hopes of helping prospective customers as well as the owners.First and foremost, I want to say that THE CHICKEN HERE IS SPICY, even the original kind without all the spicy sauces and add-ons. We got Snow Onion chicken wings and the batter (or marinade beneath the batter) on the wings was so spicy I could only eat a couple before I had to stop. I can't eat spicy foods and to me these were somewhere between medium and hot on your typical American spiciness scale. I know a lot of Korean food is spicy, so I probably should've asked, but I guess I didn't think simple fried chicken would be, since they have spicy options too......which brings me to my main issue with this place: it's confusing. The menu has no explanation of menu items. It's hard to know what you're getting without asking a bunch of questions, and the order sizes are misleading. For the prices, the entrees seem like a sharable dish for two people, but we found that even for two people who usually eat small portions one order was not enough for us. The menu doesn't say how many pieces you're getting and the pictures show more than you get. The sides are expensive (10 bucks for cheesy corn, seriously?), rice does not come with food by default and I don't recall even seeing it listed as a menu option, nor did the staff ask if we wanted it, so we didn't even know it was available until we saw other customers getting some. The ambiance of this place feels like a hotel conference room or an airport lobby. Needs some decorating and more inviting lighting to feel like a restaurant. No one seated us when we came in, so we ordered at the counter, thinking it was a counter-service place and this confused the staff, thinking we were ordering food to-go. Simple signage could fix this. The food itself was very good, if you like spicy food (which accounts for most of my rating, I'm trying to be fair here). Good price on local draft beer pours. All the confusion at this place is so unnecessary and feels like it's owned and managed by amateurs. Maybe it will improve in time. I don't know if I'd return or not if I could eat spicy food, but since I can't, I won't, and wish I hadn't wasted my time/money going there to begin with.
I only recently discovered this place and gotta say that this chicken is the place to beat. The texture on the batter is perfectly fried yet so juicy and flavorful on the insideThe red hot Thai is definitely spicy for someone not used to spice, so be careful, but if you're used to it it's not too bad. They do seem under staffed so be patient.
This is probably the best chicken you can eat in Kansas city. You have to try this one. The garlic sauce is so exquisitely blended that my husband loves it and maybe even the kids will be addicted to it. I didn't expect this much so good. I think I'll be with this chicken house this winter.
Worst customer service that I have ever had. My party went in for a late lunch and there was only 1 table that joined shortly after us. The female server named Erica was not only inattentive, but she was loud and talking to what seemed like her friend. When we asked for the pickled radish that is served alongside the fried chicken, she rudely said they were out of it and can't sub anything for it. She didn't even try to offer anything else and would instead go back to her seat and go on her phone. Additionally, she never refilled waters nor asked how the food was. We had to ask her for the bill and grab our own to-go box. She did not say a single word or thank you to us when we left. We noticed she was also inattentive to the other table that was in the restaurant with us.No stars, no Tip
Seriously some of the best fried chicken I’ve ever had. The breading was very crispy even covered in that red sauce. The sauce was spicy as advertised and did not disappoint.
Hot fresh food, fast and friendly. Delicious.
