I would have to summarize this experience as a interesting first that I don’t desire to repeat. (Done it to be rushed to leave. instead of hurry up and wait; more like hurry up and leave.) The food, drinks music and setting amazing. I ordered the sampler platter under appetizers ? However our server was very unskilled and unprofessional in his craft. I am not sure if he was new or young. I went for the first time to meet and have dinner with a friend. We ordered drinks and a meal collectively the ticket was over 100.00. The waiter consistently came back to our table asking if we were done, brought our tickets and a to go box in the middle of eating and asked if he could take anything else. My friend asked did we have to leave now, what’s wrong. He stated we have a long line as long as you continue to order you can stay. She politely said sir were not finished with what we have and we will not be ordering anything else. We have only been here for an hour. He threw his hands up and walked away. I can understand the excitement of customers and making money however; I have never experienced being rushed out of a restaurant. (I will try a different K-Macho’s location because the food and setting was very enjoyable, just the waiter did not make it a very good experience for sure.
My favorite Tex-Mex restaurant in Olathe. I have had an assortment of dishes here, and they were all delicious. Fajitas, Kansas Burrito, Carne Asada plate. The Chips and Dip is good, you can sometimes find a coupon for a free Queso Dip in one of the Valpak or other local flyers. There are only 2 draw backs when coming here. 1st, they are always very busy. Im not a big fan of crowds or being seated back to back against the next table and they try to pack those tables in there like sardines to service the most customers they can. 2nd is that the staff is not always friendly or even helpful when you have questions about a dish. But the food has always been excellent. Even on to go orders.
Had a disappointing experience at the K-Machos in Olathe KS tonight. We called the restaurant at 5:30pm to make sure they were open since it was a holiday and was told by hostess they were. I asked how late they were open until and she said 10:00pm. We left our house shortly after and drove to restaurant which is about 20 minutes away which got us there a little after 6:00pm. When we went to check in a guy at the front check in station said they were closing early tonight and the kitchen was already shut down. I explained to him we just called and girl said they were open until 10pm. He said they decided to close early and really didn’t seem to care that this happened to us. The manager came up and said they decided to close early and he too didn’t seem to care. It was disappointing that they didn’t properly notify customers and just made this last minute decision. It was a waste of our time and gas to head over there for dinner plus both people could care less. This is a bad way to run a business especially in today’s environment. I won’t be back and hope more people know how little they value their customers.
One of my favorite Mexican spots when I’m out this way. I tried something new tonight and was NOT disappointed. The Pollo Relleno was full of flavor. Although I was so full on chips by the time it came because the restaurant was so busy, our server took so long just to ask for our order we got through 2 bowls of chips!! (Which were awaiting us when we arrived at our table- too bad there wasn’t any water waiting also because it took a very long time to get that also).
This place. No. Went on 4/2/22. Waiter was too busy watching the game to take care of us in any way possible. They make tortillas right next to the bathroom doors. Plates were chipped and sharp. We watched a chain smoker walk in with her Chihuahua and feed it from her fork at the table repeatedly. No thanks for coming or how was the food, which was the wrong order. The manager was walking around but not talking to the customers. This is the 3rd time we've been here in the last 3 years and it hasn't improved at all, it's gone down more and more. If you had a choice choose taco bell in the same parking lot, it's a safer bet.
I was in Olathe on business and dropped in for a late lunch. The atmosphere was casual but inviting and very clean. The server was diligent but very friendly. My meal came quickly and was delicious. I love Mexican food and this meal lived up to all my expectations. I can't wait to get back to the area to try more of their fare.
Mexican restaurant of choice. Visiting about once a month. On Fri or Sat nights there is usually a wait, but I've never minded. I will gladly wait 45min to get a table. Once seated, service is always quick, friendly and attentive even when they are packed. I typically order the Piramide Chimichanga with champagne cheese sauce. And it comes with white rice and lettuce. Though it is a large dish, I can't stop until it's all gone. Their other dishes are also very good. Their taco salad is enormous. Other family members have tacos and enchiladas and they always come out great. No standing grease and oil prevalent at other local establishments.
Love this place. Great workers there ? So professional and polite
We have been going to Kmachos since they opened. Always good food, great service and excellent margaritas BUT what has happened? Went for Valentine’s Day and were so disappointed. Margaritas were awful. Watered down drinks, half the size appetizers, mediocre entree. So disappointed.
Ordered to go, and the food was hot and ready on time. Always a favorite when coming back to Kansas City area, as there aren't any really decent Tex-Mex places out where I live now. Only complaint I would have is that the meals had no form of labeling, which was frustrating when we ordered for 9 people and had to figure out who got what meal.
