I had the best biscuits and gravy there yesterday than I have had in a very long time. Always a fun experience and a family favorite!

My wife, my daughter and I enjoyed breakfast at The Chef Cafe while we were in Manhattan for K-State graduation weekend. Although there was a wait for larger parties, we were seated immediately during the breakfast rush. The atmosphere is bright, warm and friendly at The Chef. Our server was cheerul and attentive. I enjoyed the chorizo burrito, which was excellent. My wife liked her scrambled eggs and hash browns, while my daughter enjoyed a delicious side of biscuits and gravy and a side of over-medium eggs. The Chef is a good choice for breakfast in Manhattan.
The owner or waiter, I think, the owner wasn't all that friendly or patient. He might have had a bad day, but was trying to rush us!
I've always wanted to try this place out, some friends recommended it as well. Overall the service was great, wait time minimal but the food, meh. My cousin ordered the corn beef hash, it was pretty charred, like badly. We all had the house potatoes as our side, appearance wise looked delicious but the taste was a negative 10 for me. Wayyyyy too much salt where as the fritata didn't have any at all and it was charred as well. My kids had the breakfast pizza but it was more like a cheese pizza with egg toppings. But like I said, hit or miss since the mimosas were good.
We’ve eaten here before and the food is good, it has a bit of a wait but what irritates me is how we were treated five min ago by the receptionist. When my husband asked how long the wait might be for two the lady looked at our daughter he was holding and said “is THAT the second”. My child is not a that, but THAT type of service isn’t worth any wait.
Have never had a bad experience here. Breakfast choices are unique and so flavorful. Great drinks for that morning after hangover or as a pick me up!
Very good food and pricing. Good service too. Friendly people. 1st time visiting and now i see way they have lines out the door.
Best place to get breakfast anywhere within a 60 mile radius! Highly recommend the breakfast bowl and banana foster pancakes! Only downside, there is always a wait... So plan ahead, it's definitely worth it.
