we just had lunch at taco Lucha. the menu reads that you can upgrade a margarita from house to Don Julio for a $1.50 each. we got a pitcher of margaritas (5 margarita)and they charged us $63.00. a margarita is $8 and with upgrade should have been 9.50 but manager said Don Julio is 12.50 a shot. Bottom line the manager doesn't understand that the menu clearly reads upgrade for $1.50 on any drink. He rudely handed us the bill and turned and walked off. he said they just redid their menus. there was 7 of us and we won't go back.
This is my first ever restaurant review but I feel obligated to share my experience. I travel twice per month all over the country and enjoy eating at the nicest food establishments I can find. Never have I experienced a staff as friendly and helpful as the staff at Taco Lucha. Every person working there tonight was genuinely happy to serve others at the highest level. My wife and I went from grabbing a quick bite to feeling like it was date night! Our 1 year old daughter poked a hole in her cup and the staff didn’t make us feel like a bother at all when we requested another cup for her. From the moment we were called in from the waitlist to the moment we left, we felt a genuine connection with each person like they were all the owner of the establishment. This doesn’t happen on accident. They are doing something special at Taco Lucha that every business should seek to replicate. This experience made me proud to live in the Little Apple!
Food is always amazing but service sometimes struggles and is overwhelmed, and orders fall through the cracks. Not sure how this happens when there’s 3 people at the host stand, 2 at the bar, and another handful of servers but seems to be the theme every time we go. The staff is however always friendly and amicable when interacting with them, when you can get their attention. Receipt is rarely accurate when the check is brought to the table (charged for extra drinks, food, or wrong receipt entirely)The kitchen is always spot on and quick, with great presentation once the order finally gets placed, so props there.
It was a great experience to eat lunch at. The people were so friendly it made you feel like you were dining with family and friends.
We were visiting for a work conference, and several people suggested it. Fantastic service, and the food was delicious. We tried the blackberry black bean dip on the advice of our server, and it was divine. Authentic, eclectic, and quirky in all the right ways!
Awesome atmosphere and great beer and food. I had a great server and noticed rather quickly that the serving staff as a whole family as exceptional.
Lucha has been one of my favorite spots in mhk, the food is amazing, the vibes are usually immaculate and the staff, again usually, very kind , fun and helpful ! This evening was unusually disappointing, a friend of mine and I have been frequent regulars for awhile now and are completely understanding of having a busy bar and restaurant. Sydney, I believe is her name , was quite rude and unattentive. Again, being in the service industry ourselves we do our best to be as accommodating as possible, but it seemed as if we and everyone around us were a bother to her. Still love the place, 10/10 recommended, just disappointed this evenings service.
So good! Get the bacon-wrapped jalapeño poppers—I’m obsessed! And the Mexicano steak taco is by far the best! Our server tonight was so nice and attentive—even comped us our app because she said it took a long time to get to us—and we in no way were upset at all!!!We went right after work, knowing how busy it gets, and still got seated within 5 minutes. Hands down the best Mexican food experience we’ve had so far in Manhattan.
The raspberry bean dip is amazing! Food is tasty and prepared neatly. This is where the locals go, and it's a fun place with a nice outdoor patio, equipped with heaters and blankets.
We made it to Taco Lucha for lunch finally!Fun atmosphere, great music choices, fun and friendly staff...Did I mention the food!?!I see why this place is one of the best taco places in Kansas!Keep up the great work!
