I really like this place. I don't know how to address the following issue, but the smoke from the sandwich maker gives me a headache. At various points it has been so smokey someone should open the doors. But, the smell/effect still isn't as bad as in Starbucks when they spray the ovens with chemicals and let that burn off with no ventilation. Great place, inclusive environment and reasonable prices.
I loved the lemon-vanilla syrup they accidentally made, and they made it again because I was devastated when the first bottle ran out. This place is the best to study, and the workers are super sweet. They do their best to remember regulars which means I'll keep coming back. :)
Nice place! I loved the decor, and atmosphere was friendly. Would definitely go again.
It took me a while to get here. I live a 4 hour walk distance from the location. I arrived knees weak and arms heavy. And it was the most fire food I've ever eaten. i almost ate so much that i threw up on my sweater. Only warning if you come here, you could lose yourself with how good the food is.
Really enjoyed my coffee here. There are also little poems and notes in some of the seats left by other people. Some of them made my day and I would recommend leaving your own note to add to the collection!
Disappointing experience. I’m new here, and I had my two dogs with me; so I sat outside to order and drink coffee. It seems they don’t have servers outside, only seating. So the dogs and I moved and stood quietly in the entry way, waiting to ask a question about ordering, and see how we could order something to go. After about minute, we moved two steps in the door to ask the barista if we could order in some way, before I could ask he started stammering and got really flustered saying, ‘you can’t be here’ ‘you have to go outside’ ‘you can’t be in here’, he peppered in ‘it’s the health code, you have to be outside’. I tried to be outside and do things the correct way, but seems there is no good process for this. I assume the coffee is good, but can’t say for sure.
If I could rate this place a 0 I would. Partial owner David very aggressively approached a girl studying and demanded she throw away her Starbucks drink and buy something from there or leave. The whole encounter was extremely rude and poorly executed. Unacceptable customer service is how you will go out of business, not people bringing in cups from other companies. Do better.
I really enjoy this place but I feel like they're not consistent with their almond milk. Sometimes it taste fine and other times it taste like cardboard. I wish they would use a good almond milk like califia barista blend. So if you like almond milk in your coffee maybe not the best place to go.
Love coming to Public Hall! The employees are so warm and friendly, and the food is great. Strongly recommend as a study spot.
We stop here at least once whenever we are in Manhattan. Their breakfast burrito is delicious and filling. I've also had the breakfast sandwiches and they are really good also. My go to drink is a hot Earl grey tea made with coconut milk. Absolutely delicious!! They seem to be perpetually understaffed so the wait can be long, but I think it's worth it for the high quality food!
