The ceiling above the raw food and sauce bar was literally dripping nasty roof water down onto my plate. I had to get someone's attention in the kitchen to at least put a bucket down or something. Which was a job in itself because no one in the vicinity seemed to speak English. Anyways, that dripping over the food is very disgusting and unsanitary! No one seemed to care about anything, it was a pitiful view. The wait staff was so bored looking like there was nothing to do when the place obviously needed to be cleaned and who knows what else. The whole experience was uncomfortable. Don't waste your money folks. Make them do something about their negligence.
I had not been here for awhile. I use to eat here every 2 weeks when I was in Manhattan, and its was EXCELLENT. The quality, flavor, and service have gone way down. The noodles had a funky off taste. When I informed my waiter, about it he looked at me like I was crazy. The sauce was either watered down or made wrong. I used them same amount I always do and there was very little flavor. I totally understand why it was not near as busy as it use to be at lunch.
The food has gone downhill since I last visited which was before I moved back to Hutch last year. My noodles weren't cooked all the way, barely saw our server, and with how slow they were, they could have done better. Not to mention there were no bags for the trash in the women's cubicles so feminine products all up in the trash next to toilet and stinky diapers under the changing table. They had a bag in the main trash in the restroom by the sinks but not in cubicles.
Typically my go to place for dinner out with friends or family but after the last visit we will not be returning. Grill cook was extremely inappropriate to my 4 year old and made us all uncomfortable. Normally this place is amazing but that was just not okay.
Went through the line twice and my noodles got burnt and way too crispy both times. First it was more so my fault by grabbing the yakisoba noodles, but then I grabbed the much thicker Chinese noodles (pictured) and they got burnt since the guy cooking them wasn't being attentive enough to avoid that. Otherwise everything here is fine, but this wasn't the first visit I've had with burnt noodles.
My daughter had some noodles left on her plate. I asked for a to go box and was told they don’t do to go boxes on the buffet. That’s fine, I already had a to go box from an order I had placed to take home. I said I would dump the noodles in that. The manager proceeded to tell me he would take the plate from me before he would let me do that. He then accused me of stealing the noodles when I dumped them in the box. My daughter went through the line once. Had maybe a cup of noodles left on her plate and wanted them for lunch tomorrow. She didn’t take extra, the first time around. Was just full. How is it stealing food she had already been eating from? Food that was going to the trash and that unpaid for? My server was amazing and apologetic for Mike Scoville’s behavior as he was checking me out. I felt bad for him and tipped him extra. I wish I had his name as he did his job well.
One of my favorite places to eat in Manhattan! The food is absolutely fantastic, as long as you have some culinary finesse. It all depends on what you put in the bowl!
Great food. Food cooks fast. Was very busy but the food finished fast. I love the variety of toping you can select
Excellent all-you-can-eat grilled eastern cuisine, fantastic service, and a lively atmosphere. HuHot is a go-to place for me, my wife, and our 6 kids.
This place is decent when they remember to fully cook your food. I’ve had multiple instances where they did not fully cook my food.
