If you like middle eastern (Persian) food, you will be hard pressed to find a better restaurant in the Kansas City area. I recommend their buffet. They have a lunch buffet during the week, and most nights. The buffet has too many choices to list here, but include, chicken and beef kabobs. Roasted vegetables, lamb, and chicken curry, seasoned chicken thighs (one of my favorites), and other assorted food/dessert items. The owner is Hamid, who is on hand a lot of the time. The people there are great, as is the food. I highly recommend it.06/05/22, I really miss this place. I have bought some carry out a couple of times. A little expensive when you do it that way. Still some really good food. I wonder when they will open the dining room, and perhaps the buffet? Darn this Covid.
Ordered for pick up. Asked for them to add Zereshk to my rice which I was charged an additional $3 for it. When got home, I noticed that they’ve added dry cranberry instead of Zereshk. It’s a completely different ingredient that gives the food a different taste. When called about it, they told me it’s the same thing and tastes the SAME!!! Very disappointed with the dishonesty of this place. I grew up with Zereshk and I know the difference. I had to take the dry cranberry off my food before eat it.
This place was recommended by a family friend who knows the owner, Hamid. I was really looking forward to the food and called in for a small carry out order! As I came to pick up the food, I was faced with extreme rudeness by the owner (which is fine because everyone have bad days). But in addition to that, he made a huge fuss about how I wasn’t adding enough tips for my carry out and was pressured into add more. I felt really embarass for Hamid by his action, especially since a mutual friend recommended the place and because he made a fuss infront of other customers. I love supporting immigrant-owned restaurants but it’s really hard to do so for KC Kabob after what I’ve experienced ?.On a side note: I did enjoy the food despite the horrible experience. I ordered the chicken and beef skewer.
Great food, great service. Always enjoy Hamids kindness and lovely conversation as we are waiting for our food!
I hate to give three stars to any restaurant that's struggling, right now. The kabobs were tasty, the chicken was really good. The rice wasn't fresh, tahdig should be special... It was not. They're closed to dining and there's no buffet. Friendly, great Persian history on the walls, but I'd rather wait 20-30 minutes for the food I think they're capable of, rather than 15 minutes for what I got. The building is also under construction, so it's hard to tell if they're even open. I'll go back sometime and give it a second chance...
Kabob had poor quality, tables were not clean enough. I tried to order different things and the gentleman asked me If I can eat all of them, which was a weird Q for me!!!They need to focus on the quality of the foods.Cleanliness is very important these days with covid-19. I think they need to clean the tables and silverware better than before.
Visiting KC for a few days and we’re glad to have found a Persian restaurant! Kheli mamnoon! The food was delicious and the gentleman taking our order was very kind! We’ll be back next time we’re in town!
It's the worst food l ate in my life we ordered beef kabab and we got a little of chicken kabab with lot of rice there is no sauce no vegetables and it was expensive ? we will never go back there or order anything from there
I always eat at this restaurant. However, when I called this time to order, the person who answered was rude: he didn’t even bother to say hi. They need to learn to at least be cordial on the phone.
