On a hunch I got a bargain at z's. The Barista was friendly as well. I will return.
1/25/22 830amThe women working no smiles no good morning very dry personality. Place was a mess. I ordered coffee with 2 shots espresso cream sugar. Coffee was warm not hot I ended up tossing it out the window and going to Starbucks after... this place is a dump needs to be cleaned up hire better people and take some pride in ur product.
I'm a chocolate-covered espresso bean lover and before the c issue, I would frequent the 31st Z's. Recently, I said to myself, "I'd like to see if Z's has some espresso beans?" I drove by the 31st store early one morning and went through the drive-through and was told I might try the 23rd St Z's. I don't recall the name of the person who helped me, though she was genuinely nice and helpful! I spoke with Lexi at the 23rd St Z's and we had a brief conversation about the c-covered beans, and she admittedly said that they don't have any and haven't had any in quite a while. She said she also is a chocolate c-c bean lover and then recommended I check out La Prima Tazza in downtown Lawrence on Mass St, just south of 6th St. I drove to La Prima Tazza, and they had a variety of chocolate-covered espresso beans, among other nice goodies... Kati helped me and was expressly nice! I may have her name wrong, but I am going back to try their coffee! If it weren't for Lexi making the recommendation, I never would have known where to buy the c-beans that I really enjoy!!! Some companies frown upon recommending their competitor for a product they don't supply, in this case, it leads to two extremely positive interactions!!! Moral of the story? I recommend both Z's on 31st and Z's on 23rd St, and La Prima Tazza on Mass St. I'm sure you will leave pleased at each of these coffee shops!!!
Delicious Coffee though my husband does not care for their cold brew. Very happy attendants from what I can tell.
Great coffee says by my girlfriend.. I tried the smoothie 3 times and past 3 times I've gotten the wrong one... Sorry I love strawberry smoothies and every time I keep getting 4berry. And I go back to window to ask and they tell me it's strawberry. There's no way strawberry tastes like blueberries. I've had the strawberry smoothie here and it was fantastic. Which makes me want to get up in the morning and get the coffee. But now I don't really want to even go back. Good coffee tho
Consistent, fresh, perfect. I tried Z’s 2 years ago and it’s been my favorite coffee shop ever since. They never let me down when I go and I recommend Z’s to every coffee drinker I know.
Z’s had the best coffee in Lawrence for a long time. This location recently (within the last 6 months) lost the majority of their employees and since then the quality has gone down.I believe the new baristas just need time to learn how to pull a good shot of espresso, so I will keep giving them a chance but recently their coffee has been less than desirable.
Gave the place on 23rd a second chance..absolutely horrid customer service and terrible coffee. Burnt and watered down- take two..won't chance a 3rd visit. Yuck!
One of the best, if not the best, coffee shops in the area! The staff felt like old friends and it's apparent they enjoy being there. The coffee is next level and they have a drive through window. Can't say enough about this place!
Cute song title coffee and it tastes good. Pick different roasts/espresso and a good food options.
