Had the buffalo burger and it was TO DIE FOR!! A wee bit undercooked for me, but oh so yummy! Homemade fries and even tried their potato leek soup... another wonderful try! Saw several salads go by that looked well worth a try and their homemade mac and cheese is another for sure next time! Full bar and lots of outdoor seating and well as indoor makes this a better stop for anyone!!!

Great selection and really enjoyed the shared starters. We had the cheese dip and the crab cakes and both were excellent. Salmon main was perfectly cooked. Chicken dish was equally good. Beverage service a bit slow but it was graduation weekend and staff worked very hard. Definitely will go again if I am back to this town.

My fiance and I stop in here every now and then and every experience has been fantastic! Down to the Very friendly staff and knowledgeable barkeeps to the incredible appetizers which we usually dine on to the fact that the place is an old bank and the restrooms are actually on the old bank vault is a very cool historic feature. Amazing beer selection also of course. I have to recommend the Bee stingers I think they're called? Probably my favorite app on the menu. Highly recommend!

This restaurant is easily my favorite in Lawrence! Typically I'm a very picky eater but my S.O. and I have loved absolutely everything we've tried here! Staff is super friendly and happy hour has great deals. Usually I skip apps and dessert but here they are a must-have! Be sure to notify the host about mobility needs -- there's a full flight of stairs to get to some of the tables!

Decent beer selection, great service, but you can do better price wise in the area. The good: beer selection is above average for the area on tap. Service is stellar. The meh: high prices for the area. The bad: none.

Best salmon I've ever had!Stopped at Merchants Pub & Plate while travelling through the states with my mother and had such a lovely experience. I had the Seared Salmon which was cooked perfectly with great flavouring, and my mum had the Smoked Short Rib Gnocchi and said it was very tasty. Our waitress was so sweet and friendly, and we met a lovely couple who told us that the pub was the bank that Clyde (Bonnie & Clyde) came across and the bathroom is the old bank vault! Very intriguing building. Overall we had a wonderful experience! Highly recommend.

Wonderful meal and dynamite ambiance. We thoroughly enjoyed our brunch experience from the warm greeting we received, the drinks, and the meal itself. Very impressed with the amount of local foods incorporated into each meal as well. Good selection of beers. Hat tip for the $5 bloody Mary as well.Enjoyed the "healthy option" brunch entree and was delighted--perfect portion size, delicious, and I cleaned my plate. It's not an ideal place to take kids and there wasn't a kids menu but we were able to cobble together a number of sides. The staff were friendly and accommodating to us bringing our children but this is not marketed as a family restaurant so we didn't expect a kids menu.Beautiful space as well...nice touch in that they kept the original bank vault and door that you pass through to reach the restrooms. Not sure if I'll be in Lawrence again but if I am I'll be sure to dine here again.

Delicious!Didn’t have to tell the kids to eat. Not once;)From our drinks to the appetizer, to our entree and dessert. Every single bite, superb.Great portions. Great flavors, attentive waitresses. All in all, a wonderful experience. We even went over to thank the manager for having such a wonderful team of chefs. Too many times they don’t get the praise they deserve.Totally recommend the Merchants.

Been more than a few years since I visited what was Tellers to me all my college life. It feels the same with a different name, but I don't recall the cuisine ever being as good as it was at Merchants. Went for lunch with my wife and two teenagers, and it was outstanding. Service was wonderful as well. Had the tenderloin with the gnocchi. Very impressive presentation, and range of flavor. Arancini for the app was so good we had to do it twice. Cheers to Merchants in making what was fond to me in memory even better in the present.

We went for Sunday brunch. I had a reservation for 11:45, there must have been 20-30 people waiting in line for tables. They were BUSY!! We had Brussel Sprouts for starters. It was a large bowl full with a great sauce, I would recommend trying this. My wife had the salmon salad; I had the Go-to-burrito. We both thought they were good, not fantastic. The highlight of our meal was the server, Sophia and the brussels sprouts. We will go again, but I will try the pancakes, There were a lot of plates of them coming out, they looked great, and people were smiling while eating them. Sophia our waitress, did an outstanding job.
