I've been a big fan of the Latchkey, it has my Go-To Reuben on the menu. Homemade potato chips are an additional winner, and their house pickles are really good. I haven't bought any of their bulk deli meats yet, but that's not too far off. A friendly staff, a comfortable eat-in area, with outdoor dining both on Massachusetts St., and a cozy patio out back give the Latchkey the perfect environment for enjoying a great meal.
We had the reuben and the hot beef, carryout. We were a bit underwhelmed on flavor and portion size, but fully admit a restaurant like this should not be judged on a one time carryout. We'll definitely go back and dine in. Our friends all love the place.
Easily the best deli in Lawrence. Staff are always beyond good and helpful and the environment is great. The staff truly care about the work they do and show it each and every time. Not to mention everything I’ve tried on the menu is absolutely incredible! If you’re looking for great food and a friendly environment this is the place to go, support local business!!
I highly recommend this restaurant. I have dined in numerous times. The owner operates are very sociable and engaging. The cuisine is stellar. Reuben sandwich, tomato soup with a pickle and horseradish is my go to and has never lead me astray. The cheese is deliciously melted, sauerkraut freshly pickled, and the corned beef seared to perfection. The Italian sodas are a highly recommended add on.

Such an amazing restaurant. I went with my mom, friends, and partner, and we each had something different. Every. Single. Thing. Was. Incredible. So fresh, so flavorful! A worthy addition to beloved Lawrence, Kansas! They also gave us Italian cream sodas on the house, which was unexpected, but such a lovely touch. Try everything and anything. The staff were just as wonderful. Also.. house made pickles! Yum! Thank you for the experience! Ps I appreciated the nod to Saint Anthony.
Great vegetarian options. The beefy boy special was a fan favorite. Sandwiches came with a generous side, $8-12. They also have house made pickles.
Latchkey has a terrific Reuben w corned beef made in house. Lawrence hasn't had a "Great" Reuben for years. They may even make their own kraut. I've had the Reuben several times but today decided to branch out and have the Italian sub, which was fantastic! The meat choices w tangy tapenade and veggies is now another one of my favorites.
Amazing experience in this place! I had a veggie sandwich + ham & pimento cheese it was delicious. Very fresh and natural ingredients yet savory with the dressings or seasoning that they put in. It had avocado, beets, lettuce, tomato, onion, pesto and my extra addition of ham and pimento cheese. I had pasta salad for my side, it was perfect. Not too mayonissy, with some crunchy celery and cherry tomatoes.Husband had the Reuben sandwich, delicious classic flavor. The bread was toasty and soft. He had tomato soup, it had a homemade taste.The staff was also very kind and nice. We will definitely come back soon. ?
One of the best lunches I’ve had in Lawrence in a long time. The veggie sandwich is one of the best vegetarian sandwiches I’ve ever had. The beet pastrami is insanely flavorful and the entire sandwich is balanced well. I also got the potato salad, which had the perfect amount of tanginess and wasn’t too dry. Definitely get one of their pickles too! Can’t wait to try more stuff on the menu. This is truly one of the best places to open in Lawrence in the last ten years.
