Food is good, a bit pricey, but you go for the experience. The chef was kind enough to ask if we wanted to have shrimp tossed at us to try to catch in our mouths, and we politely declined. (Poor catch history and we hate to waste shrimp!) Chef was entertaining and kept up a lively patter. We appreciate the mask-wearing but it did make it harder to understand him.
We overnighted nearby and were thrilled to find this Japanese restaurant. Everyone was welcoming (and masks-thank you). We had cold Japanese beers at the sushi bar until we could be added to a group hibachi table. Server was attentive. Soup and salad came first. Chef was fun. Rice and mixed veggies for all, then our meat orders cooked perfectly. I had KC steak and hubs had scallops. We were very happy with our meals. Complimentary sherbert finish. We would recommend this place for a different dining experience, good food and entertaining.
We went to Kobe for our 12th anniversary. It was my first time there. I was super impressed with the quality and flavor of the dishes. The presentation was amazing and the staff was super friendly and helpful. I highly recommend going here!
Decent decor, sizable parking. Families of larger than 9 will have to split amongst themselves into two, more than 16-18 and you'll be on different sides of the room entirely. Seems to have a constant flow of new chefs, but the hostess appears to be the only long term employee. Food is sometimes not eatable due to excess fat or seasoning on meat as well as over cooked veggies. How these food issues stay consistent over their high chef turnover rate I'll never understand, is it in how they teach the chefs to cook their food? It is a curiosity to me. Would go again but only if invited for a family event.
I have been in Lawrence more than 20 years and never tried this place until now. Super fun, super delicious. Highly recommend.
Have been to several of these types of restaurants. The grilled food was just ok. Thus place also serves sushi, so that is an option.

The food here is delicious definitely worth trying and when they serve you a meal it's always a show.
The servers are always nice and very helpful. The food is absolutely fantastic. And the hibachi side puts on a wonderful show.
