Sounds like a hippie place from the name. And it does have a kind of vibe. Got a tofu based breakfast which emphasized that vibe.
This place is the best. If you want Indian food, good service and friendly smiles this is the place! Everyone was welcoming, very nice and fun to talk to! I recommend this place for anyone who wants a good sit down place to enjoy a good meal with their friends!
I had an espresso and a togo breakfast sandwich and potatoes it was all amazing. The bread had a nice flavor, texture, and smell to it. My first time ordering an espresso and it was way better than what I make at home in an aero press. It didn’t need sugar as the espresso was naturally sweet and foamy. (i wish i got pictures but i forgot)
The last time I was here they served me bloody eggs. So I stayed away. For a long time. Thought I'd give them another chance. So rude I couldn't stay to order. You can bless them with your presence if you want. But I went to Merchants instead and was met with open arms, fantastic drinks and food
Overall the food tasted very bland but wasn’t expecting much for breakfast. The problem I had was the aluminum foil that they used to place my burrito on. At one point I ate a chunk without even realizing. The only reason I know that I ate it was because I noticed a piece missing.
Good breakfast. Service a bit slow. Probably would look elsewhere next time I'm in Lawrence.

Everything was perfect! The servers were very warm and welcoming. The food was excellent and brought to our table very quickly. Each ingredient stood out as fresh and flavorful. The coffee was very good, but still just a notch below Alchemy (which just happens to be next door). I enjoyed the interesting touch of using different coffee mugs of all kinds. They feed wildlife at the reception station out front. I think that's great since humans have pushed many native species out of the downtown area.I'm absolutely going back. Global Café is an excellent experience!
Very laid back atmosphere with amazing food. The Samoa coffee was amazing! I would absolutely come back here next time I’m in Lawrence.
We’re from out of town and were planning to eat here. As we were walking up we watched the owner refuse to serve a party with a wheelchair user on the patio. (The entrance isn’t accessible.) She was very curt and blamed her poor service on being short staffed. We went somewhere else.
