Always love Barker St Bakery. Everything I've had from bread to pastries and coffee have been wonderful. It also has a great neighborhood small cafe vibe.

We are staying at the vrbo across the street and have been here for the past 3 mornings. The sandwiches are awesome and some of the best cold brew ive ever had! I am from out of town but will be back next time we are visiting. Great service, super positive staff and they remembered my name when i came in the 2nd day! Super awesome business. The baked goods smell amazing and my inlaws loved them! Thanks for the awesome experience!!

The best coffee in Lawrence? Could be. Barker especially knows their espresso, and you can find the less common specialties like Gibraltar here. The alluring smell of fresh baked breads and pastries is also accurate: the menu is not long but delicious through and through.Parking fills up quickly, though you can find spots on the street. Better walk or bike if you can. Then sit outside on the patio!

Best pastries in the city, get here early or they may sell out of some things. Huge fan of the ham and cheese croissant with everything seasoning on top.No sweeteners are offered for coffee??? I asked for Splenda, no. Sugar? No. I was told they don’t have any sweeteners. It’s a bakery, so ostensibly there is sugar in the building, in large quantities. At any rate, I’ll still swing by occasionally to get take out, but the sweetener thing will keep me from walking over weekly.

Had a latte with house-made syrup and nut milk - delish! The quiche was wonderfully savory with a nice, flaky crust. The lemon cream pastry was equally as enjoyable. I could eat a bowl of just the cream ?

years ago I visited when I moved to Lawrence, and ordered a coffee and a corn and sweet onion tart. it's been years and I still think about that tart from time to time. so pardon the late review, but I was again reminded how utterly delicious it was and figured I was better late than never.

Definitely the pastries and croissants were worth the drive from Overland Park. I don't recall having a better pastry outside of France than the ones we got at 1900 Barker. We intended to get some to take home with us but everything we purchased was consumed in ten minutes.I can't give this place give stars though because the service was very unenthusiastic. Maybe they are just trying to recreate the complete French experience, but if I worked here I would be so delighted to share the love of a really good croissant. Or maybe it's just the kind of service one gets in a college town--that better-than-thou attitude that infects so many college students.Masks are unfortunately still required in the shop. Maybe that's what contributed to the surly service. Masks block normal human connection and communication.I'll come back for the pastries but next time I'll order online and skip the service.

My coffee was strong, and my pain au chocolat was fantastic, as was my wife's lemon cream croissant. The cinnamon thing I got my son was okay, but not as good as a proper cinnamon roll.I would definitely come back if I'm in Lawrence again.

I love the bread and coffee here. However, they are typically out of multiple items. And the menu is small.

The Triple Chocolate Raspberry croissant was an incredible Valentines Day treat!
