Delicious food with great service. This is a very popular restaurant located within the grocery store; Supermart El Torito. But with it's own section. The food is very well prepared and flavored, and the staff are friendly and attentive. Not all speak or understand English. But there are always staff available who do.There are two seating areas within the restaurant. They are both kept clean. And food is prepared in a timely manner. While their tacos are very good, they have a very good sized menu. Which includes everything from typical Mexican restaurant dishes to seafood and steak plates. Everything I've had there has been good. It's located in a busy area with fairly limited parking space. Thus parking can be difficult to find when busy. I definitely recommend this restaurant.
Really good food by the cooks but the other staff are slow and ignore you when you come in. My order was sitting waiting for them to bag for 10 minutes while they were talking and laughing or on the phone. Had to ask the cooks if I can get my food. Which is when they finally got back to work. ??
I don't like many street tacos, but DAMN! These are delicious! We love treating our staff with this delicious food! We ordered 72 tacos and they busted their butts getting us all set! Thank you! Gracious!!!
I will start this review by saying any taqueria I go to in the United States is measured by this place. I put them at the top of any of them. I've tried other fancy taquerias and find it hard to spend $10 for 1 street taco that may have avocado or some special garnishment when I can go here and spend less than $10 and be stuffed. When you order the street tacos they come filled with meat. The steak is not crispy pieces of beef jerky but small moist pieces. The same for the chicken. I also enjoy the shrimp tacos, I love the taste. They serve a green pureed jalapeno sauce that we always purchase in the grocery store (next door) to take home. I can't get enough of it. I've tried other things like the fajitas and the quesadillas and have never been disappointed. There are many lists of best taquerias in Kansas City and this always shows up on that list, but I would always put it as number one. One. It's weird to say but they have other restaurant locations in Kansas City and I never find the food to taste the same. I only order from this place.
The food was “okay” but not overwhelmingly good as other people described. I felt the food was very dry and unseasoned,it needed more sauces or spices. I had the steak quesadillas and the chicken taco. The taco was the most disappointing especially considering the hype. I do love the cozy atmosphere ,but that’s a the only positive food experience.
Took roughly 45 minutes to get my food and additional 10 minutes to get my brother's food. All we ordered was a chimichanga and burrito. The food tasted ok, but the rice was a little dry. You could say i was disappointed considering how long we waited.
LOVE this place, been coming for YEARS!! So I am surprised to read some of the negative comments. You cannot get cheaper Authentic Mexican food anywhere else!!! Yes you might have to wait, they are super busy and the place is small, yes your server might be chatty with people around ( part of the friendly Mexican Culture ) yes you might get Cilantro and other stuff all over your food ( part of being Authentic Mexican Food ) Yes you might have to wait on your food longer than other places ( Authentic NOT microwaved ) I go there with all these things in mind, because the food is worth it!!!
I’ve been coming here since it was a little store years ago. This is a must for any Carne Asada cookouts ! I also love the food at the taqueria inside. Highly recommend any of there food !
