Taco Republic used to be one of my go to‘s. This restaurant has jumped the shark! I went last night and was supremely disappointed. It is not the same since new ownership took over. I was excited to see a lot of new items on the menu and tried the enchiladas. The waitress told us we should order quickly because they were running out of beans.I got one chicken and one cheese and onion, and when my order came, the filling was lukewarm at best and it was in raw tortillas with red sauce corn and a white drizzle over it. It was in-edible. Terrible! Not even an enchilada. I was so surprised that any restaurant would serve such a terrible dish. I took one bite of each of the enchiladas one bite of the beans and one bite of the rice. I ended up politely sending the dish back. I also ordered the Elote‘s. They used to be great but what I got was corn sitting in milk with a little bit of cheese and jalapeños and herbs on the top. Not good! Although I did eat them because I was hungry. At the end of the meal our waitress brought the check and had charged me for my enchiladas. I told her I was uncomfortable paying for them because they were not good and I sent them back. The manager came over and told me that I was charged for the enchiladas because the server told him I ate half of the meal. A flat out lie! My friend and I were shocked. I literally took one small bite of each enchilada to try and sent it back. The margarita was also not good. They ended up taking the enchiladas off of my bill. I will never go back. It was awful! What a shame.
The server was on her phone the whole time we ate. I couldn’t believe that the management would allow a server to be hiding and texting between 12-1 at lunchtime. The food was ok and the portions were small. Most places where you get tacos double the tortillas so they do not fall apart when you eat them. I still can’t get over the server hiding by the bar texting and we had to even go to the bar to get more water!
Meal was delicious , very generous with meat. I have enough leftover for several other meals. Service was also good, no complaints!!
Had a great experience at Taco Republic! The "chip guy" was our favorite, we had chips & salsa on our table right as we sat down. He was so attentive and never let either come close to running out.The smothered burrito was awesome, definitely recommend asking for some of their hot salsa (wish they sold bottles of that, sooo good). The margarita flights were a nice bonus, and our server was great the entire time. Highly recommend!
Was a great second option to the neighboring restaurant with a 90 min wait. Got right in and seated with no wait. Service was friendly, 5 cheese dip was awesome, big selection of tacos, Jorge was my favorite!
Good tex-mex tacos and some pretty good chips and salsa. We also got the nachos which were also good, but could use more cheese & meat toppings. The drinks were a little sweet for my taste...a mexican beer would have been a much better pairing with the tacos.
A quick late lunch stop for one S&P beef and one S&P chicken accompanied by a Trip To Jalisco. The tacos had amazing flavor and the Trip to Jalisco was refreshing and delicious.
Have visited Taco Republic a few times and always enjoy the experience. Staff is friendly, food is tasty and beer is beer. What more can you say?Only bummer is the location due to parking. Make sure you pay close attention to where you park outside of their lot. Businesses around are quick to call a tow truck, which is a bit if a bummer.
Amazing staff and amazing atmosphere amazing margaritas what can go wrong with this place nothing best Mexican iv found so far and if u get a fajita you get so much food for you money
