Had very nice young man was our server. Excellent food. Had the special: 2 chicken beast, baked beans & coleslaw. Also ordered fried okra (was the best I have had in awhile) so yummy. Service keep our drinks full (truly appreciate this). I don't do spicy, spicy, but the chicken wasn't bad, I dipped in ranch sauce & I was good. Really good chicken, was nice dinner to enjoy. This was our first time.......recommend stopping in well worth it. Enjoy.

I was told that a trip to Kansas City wasn't complete unless you make a stop to Gus's famous fried chicken. Now every one says their fried chicken is the best so I was super skeptical but I was already four dirty Mimosas in so I figured why not. I got the spicy wings with a side of Mac and Cheese with greens. We got it to go and it didn't take but about 7 minutes to fill our orders. The chicken was fresh, hot, crispy and seasoned. You could taste the spicy but it wasn't overly spicy. I think that I inhaled the chicken or someone else stole my pieces. I will admit! That I might have been a little tipsy and don't remember what the sides tasted like but the chicken was really good.

The chicken is fantastic! The service is awesome. So glad we stopped here. A nice safe area of Kansas City not far off the beaten path. If passing thru try it out!

We had been to Gus’s in Memphis & were thrilled when we heard Gus was coming to KC. It took a while since we were counting every minute, but it did not disappoint. The chicken is spicy, crispy, juicy & just perfect. The sides are good. The service is very good. It is clean. But the chicken is the star & it shines bright at Gus’s.

I've been to 3 different states in the last 30 days. All were great. I wish we had one in Oklahoma city!

I'm normally not a big fan of fried chicken because it is so great and heavy but Gus's had found a way to make it so tasty and crispy on the outside and juicy on the inside and it's not greasy or soggy. Soooo good! I didn't get pictures because after I tried one bite the was no stopping. Sides and desserts are amazing a well!

Was in the KC area and had a hankering for fried chicken since most BBQ places were closed on December 26th anyway. Made a quick stop for lunch. Was after 2pm on a Sunday and few dine in customers. There were quite a few Togo orders. Probably because the Chiefs were on a win streak with playoff implications for the game at 3pm.Ordered their most basic 2 piece dark meal. Thigh, leg with beans and slaw and a slice of white bread. Service was fast like a KFC.Chicken has a very light coating of flour. Consequently this is a fried chicken that is not greasy at all. The chicken is spicy but nothing to brag about. The outside was crunchy despite the lack of breading and inside tender but not bursting with grease like you would find with Popeyes or KFC. This is a mostly guilt free fried chicken. A unique change up from southern breaded pan fried style.Baked beans were a modified canned variety. They were sweet and better flavor due to whatever they did to it. They were ok, definitely better than straight from the can so they get a thumbs up hereColeslaw is homemade with their own recipe. It was fresh with great crunch. Not overly sweet like candy as with KFC coleslaw. I liked it and recommend it.Only complaint I had was the size of my chicken pieces. Do not know if it was the luck of the draw but the chicken pieces were small and both fit atop a single slice of bread if you look at the picture. If have had chicken wings larger than this. If you are hungry look at ordering at least 3-4 pieces or even more. And yes I left still slightly hungry but it was ok today because I needed to lose weight after all the Xmas eating anyway.

Pretty good. I was afraid it would be too spicy, but I couldn’t even tell it was spicy at all. Chicken was crispy and juicy. It was good. The fries were good. Then beans…prob straight from a can. Kinda expensive, but I didn’t mind. Unlike the chain chicken restaurants, I didn’t get sick after eating. The waitstaff were all good. Seemed to enjoy their job, seemed friendly and happy. Parking wasn’t bad. I didn’t think the wait was bad.We got the 12 piece and the special and everyone at my house enjoyed it.

Oh, my!! This is seriously the best fried chicken I have had in my life. It came out hot and the chicken was juicy and delicious. The best part? The seasoning has a little bit of a kick but in a latent way. Nothing too hot or uncomfortable to eat. Actually, the perfect balance of spice and heat. I felt like the pricing was fair in the restaurant was clean, neat and orderly. The wait staff was exceptional. Clearly a well-run restaurant with a winning menu! Don't delay - go try it for yourself!

My friend told me this was some of the best chicken in the city. I was skeptical but really excited to try it out and WOW! Soooo delicious! My partner and I shared the white piece meal and the dark piece meal. We had a variety of sides all all of it was pretty mind-blowingly delicious! The chicken itself has a FANTASTIC, slightly spicy, and crunchy skin. The meat was super tender and the sides were just as good. My bf likes fried okra and said this is the best he's tried in a long time. I only wish they offered mashed potatoes and gravy as a side but the ones offered paired beautifully. If you're craving fried chicken, go get yourself some of this and you won't be disappointed!
