No obnoxious frills with this place. Wood fired chicken is what you are getting. Extremely delicious. I ordered the half chicken and it came with a side of salsa, tortillas, rice, and charro beans. Gladly would eat here again. Super quick service.
I was told that El Pollo Rey was an amazing place to eat and they were not wrong. I lived in the area in the 90s and I knew the area was always the best place to eat. A friend an I were in the area on a Sunday morning and we decided to give this place a try. Fresh tortilla, chicken cooked over an open pit of wood, no more was needed to draw us in. The chicken was cooked perfectly and was kissed with just the right amount of wood smoke. If we lived closer this would most definitely be our new family favorite place to eat. (Maybe y'all could expand into Lebanon or Bolivar Missouri and spread the goodness)

It doesn't get any better! Been going there for yrs! U won't be disappointed! Just get there before the chicken runs out but they need to expand they make enough and not a bone left behind on the grill! Lol...

Limited menu, but the good was good. Chicken was a little dry and they don't provide any sauce like with the wings. Slow service and overall a unclean and messy place. Might be worth 4 stars if you put the location, restaurant, and smoke aside.
Here's the deal. You get 3 choices, full chicken, half chicken, or chicken wings.. That's it!!!!!Side of rice, Side of beans, tortillas... That's it!!!!But that's all you're gonna need Daddy!! So yummy in your fat tummy.. Love it
