I am in no way a Mexican food "expert". But Don Antonio's has the single most authentic Mexican food I have ever eaten anywhere in the U.S. in my entire life (and I am 51 and reasonably well-traveled). Don't be dissuaded by the austere setting. Don Antonio's is an absolute gem if you are looking for REAL Mexican food at exceptionally reasonable prices. Please read the other Tripadvisor reviews for excellent descriptions of the menu and store/restaurant/butcher shop itself. In short, I guarantee you will not be disappointed by Don Antonio's. You will never want to go back to a Mexican chain restaurant again.
My husband found this place after legends, I wasn't sure but we give a try ; nothing impressive most when the Milanese torta was like eating piece of rubber. There is other better places to choose .
Absolutely the best and most authentic Mexican food I've ever had. Food came out FAST and delicious. As soon as you walk in, you are just immersed in the fabulous smells of the kitchen. The staff were so friendly. Anyone who leaves less than 5* is stark raving mad. No photos because I ate it too fast ?
Not sure if they don’t like colored people. But if they don’t they could have said that instead of skipping over us the that said 4 asada tacos with onions and cilantro and I got lettuce and tomato what what Mexican place put lettuce and tomatoes on a taco. I get home the food is Gross just simply gross the tamales have no seasoning no flavor the meat this is bland everything is just gross never again
Great place to pick up some grilling meat for your typical carne asada. They also have a made to order food stand where they make fantastic tacos, quesadillas, and other common Mexican fast foods. Definitely try the steak quesadilla as they are second to none!
Very authentic and welcoming restaurant. The food is fresh and the staff are extremely hard working! Has everything from groceries to laundry detergents available there also!
Been going here for years and still think its the best place for tacos in KC. Never let me down and always satisfied when I leave.
Visited specifically to try the taqueria fare. We tried the asada tacos, pastor tacos, and the tamales. Everything was excellent! The sauces were flavorful and had good spice. We also tried a sample of the buche (hog mogs), as we had never tried it before, it was also delicious. Overall, if you are looking for authentic and delicious Mexican food, this place is worth a visit.
