Do not eat here. No flavor. Small burger patty!! but big bread why ?♀️? Worst experience ever. The have all these crazy names for every burger. But they lack flavor!!! The burger taste SO DRY! They don’t have a secret sauce they just serve them dry. They said they have a zombie sauce but it’s just thousand island ?♀️ they charge extra for a side of thousand island sauce. All wrong all bad steer away. ?
We visited Des Moines from Missouri and were eagerly anticipating some burgers and shakes after a 4-hour drive. The first thing we noticed was that the shake machine was out of order. If "Shake Lab" is half of your name, you should make sure your shake machine is operational. I ordered the Flamethrower with a side of fried Brussels sprouts. The burger itself was okay, about 6/10, but the blue cheese tasted like cough medicine. The sprouts looked like they had been deep-fried and then run over by a truck. Our daughter ordered the mac and cheese, which was cold and flavorless. Definitely a disappointment and I have to believe there are better burgers to be had in Des Moines,
Zombie used to be great. But the mall mgr just doesn’t care anymore. No greeting, long wait to order although nobody else waiting, staff in complete misery, cold burger, cheese didn’t even melt at all, screwed up order, mgr rude. They close early or don’t open at all. It’s reminiscent of the Wendy’s that preceded Zombie at this location and went out of business. You can’t make it on travelers alone, once you lose locals, your dead in the water.
The customer service from the employees and manager Clint Westberg are horrible. It’s so sad and frustrating that people have no customer service anymore in a profession that revolves around it. Last time I was there, their shake machine was “broken.” I wasn’t aware I was at McDonald’s. I only go there for their shakes. Tonight I was there and waited in line for 10 minutes to be told they turned off their shake machines already. We had just gotten out of a movie and my son wanted a shake for his birthday so it was disappointing.
Unique burgers and thick patties, not the flat kind. Crispy fries. Be sure to get a basket of fries. Enough for 3-4 people. Bummer that they had no ice cream last there.

Eh…… experience was so/so. The teen taking my order never even looked up from her phone. Asked her a couple questions about the burgers and she couldn’t answer them and didn’t look like she was interested in getting the answers. The burgers were ok. They did come out quick. But nothing special. I would give burgers a 6.5 out of 10 and customer service a 3.
Food was not bad for mall food, however I told them my soda was flat and they said okay. They didn’t even offer to replace it once they fixed it. Girl at register also had to run my card twice cause we ordered two burgers and she only Put one through.
I LOVE coming here, it's such a comfortable and friendly environment, and the servers are always cool. The food is also fantastic, and I always get a zombie unicorn shake when I go ❤
Overall, the food was really good. If it wasn't for the beyond meat vegan patty being a little weird and kind of cold, we would definitely give it a 4 or 5. It's a very unique Burger place with great fries! Bring back the vegan nut burger!!
