Steep, sharp decline in quality of pizza. We’ve been customers for decades and won’t return. Since the pandemic, we order carry out pizza about every other month. Always thin crust, Italian sausage pizza. The toppings have gotten skimpier and skimpier. About 10 pieces of sausage on their 14” pizza. This is the last time we’ll order here. I arrived 10 min after it was to be ready and it was cold and hard, too. The box was so light, I opened it to make sure there was a pizza in it. Really, really bad.
It's hard to think the kitchen is clean when the wall that the booth is against is caked in splatter (pizza sauce, dirt, and dust). For an appetizer we had the grinder meat and cheese dip with tortilla chips. The server brought it out and while setting it down, her long nails skimmed the inside of the full bowl of luke warm clumpy cheese. Ordered a half cheeseburger and half philly thin crust pizza. Dough was soggy and pizza was flavorless mush.
This place is an older building, so don't be expecting anything fancy. However, their food was really good and priced really well. The servers were so kind and made us feel so welcomed! We would definitely eat here again!
Instead of pizza, which they are supposedly famous for, we had a Guinea grinder and a tenderloin, with a side order of onion rings. The onion rings came out first, a generous portion, but more like onion shreds than rings. They were unsalted, maybe for someone trying to eat healthily???? Not very impressive, very greasy. The tenderloin was marked on the menu as a HUGE tenderloin but was average-sized at best. Also very greasy. The Guinea grinder was good, but a little over-baked such that the bread was too hard. Greasy too, but not more than expected. Won't plan to return.

We went for a celebration at work with a last minute group of 15. The waitress and hostess were present and polite as we were seated and got our orders in. The food was hot and fresh and the waitress kept all our drinks full on top of her other 5 or so decently sized tables. We had a nice time in a clean environment.
We love their grinder sandwich and onion rings. You have to try the grinder... It's a must have when stopping in the Tavern. The combination of sausage and soft bread with flaky crust... Delicious!
There was only two servers but the wait wasn't too bad. This is more of a pizza place than a pasta place. They do have Mozz sticks tho! I added Parmesan cheese to them and they were the best around!
We have been eating here for decades. Always get thin crust Italian sausage pizza. We eat here or order carry out about 6-8 times a year. Each time, the pizzas get smaller, the ingredients get more sparse and the prices get higher. Staff is generally friendly. I ordered carry out online last Saturday night. I got email saying order would be ready in 30 min. I got there 45 min after I got the email. The friendly woman at the bar handed me the 2 for 1 carry out special(buy one, get one half off) and I immediately notice the two boxes were super light. After getting the order home(about a 5 min drive), we were so disappointed to see there was only cheese on about 2/3 of the pizza. There were about 10 pieces of sausage on a “large” pizza, and both pizzas were almost cold and kind of hard. We’ll try valley junction, but we are done at the the 50th street location. Soo disappointing. Loyal customers quitting. My dogs didn’t even want this really bad pizza
SOLID thin crust pizza, had the meat eater and the Grinder Stinger. Have had the Cheese Supreme in the past. say what ya may but they are heavy handed when it comes to the cheese
