When someone places a to-go order with special instructions, it's important that you get it right. When we get the order home and it's wrong, we're not coming back out to get it corrected. And we are also NOT going to come back for a long, long time. Because it's so easy to pay attention to the instructions on an order. But it's easier to ignore it & driver your customers away.
The chicken flour tacos and flour chips with queso are quite good but could use some more flavor. Other than that no complaints food was prepared fast and fresh!P.S. I’ve read some reviews on here that make me want to point out if you’re looking for authentic Mexican food you’re in the wrong place, but they are still good tacos!
Two priorities when visiting Des Moines area, in order:1. Eat at Tasty Tacos2. See my in-laws
The flour tacos are where it's at - I prefer the steak but my wife likes the chicken. Personally I would be wary of the other stuff on the menu, I don't know that it's all as authentically-done as the flour tacos. The decor inside could use a little love/refreshing, but it's also kinda their motif/look. Seating more than 4 people doesn't work very well here, so if you have 5+ people in your group then plan to have to split up.All in all though, one of my favorite places to eat - good stuff and a must have for any out-of-towners.
My husband and I very excited to try this place since we both enjoy Mexican food! But we were very disappointed! The place smelled like a bathroom and food was very bland. I had the chicken burrito and chicken enchilada. They were pretty much the same thing, no sauce on enchilada, just chicken ( seasoned with too much black pepper ) and cheese. Would rather go to Taco Bell next time.
Not impressed. We tried a few different menu options ‐- cheese fries, cheese enchilada, corn tacos and cheese quesadilla -- and the best thing was the hot sauce. The cheese 'enchilada' was just a heated corn tortilla with melted cheese inside and melted cheese on top, no sauce tasted at all; fries weren't hot, taco was small and not very full but the biggest joke was the quesadilla... it was literally a regular small tortilla folded in half. And it was three bucks? Two stars because as husband said, the food wasn't bad, it just wasn't good.
Former Des Moines local - now KC resident - just passing through for work usually. I ALWAYS stop here if I can though. It’s so gosh darn delicious. The service is quick, the food is delicious, and it’s priced well.
This is a very popular place. Their prices are consistent with years past, haven't seen a price increase with covid yet like many places. The tacos and flour chips are excellent!
Love Tasty Tacos! The original flour taco -- yummy! Not like any other taco you've had before. I'm pretty sure of that. A delicious fried tortilla. Can't go wrong there. ? Give it a try. Try their fries too.
First time visiting the Jordan Creek area location. Was great as always!
